Professional Experience
October 2014-present Staff physician, SCL Physicians Stapleton. Working FT as
occupational medicine physician.
2013-2014 Regional medical director, Indiana University Health
Bloomington Occupational Health Services. Beside traditional
clinical occupational medicine duties and supervision of four nurse
practitioners, time was spent performing administrative tasks such
as developing clinical protocols, establishing and strengthening
client relationships, and managing clinic operations for three free-
standing clinics.
2012-2013 Staff physician, Workwell Occupational Medicine. Worked FT
as an occupational medicine clinician in Longmont and Boulder,
CO.

2010-2012 Medical examiner, DES, Inc. As a contractor, performed medical
examinations for claimants applying for Social Security Disability
Insurance. Job duties also included state-wide travel, interpretation
of ancillary testing (e.g. spirometry, ECG), and over-the-phone
dictating.
2009-2010 Staff physician, Occu-Care, Inc./CHAMPS. Worked 1.0 FTE as
occupational medicine clinician and medical review officer in
Greeley, CO.
2007-2009 Chief resident, HealthPartners Occupational and
Environmental Medicine Residency. Resident duties included
patient evaluation and treatment in three occupational medicine
clinics, as well as attendance and participation at conferences and
seminars. Residents also rotate at sites outside of HealthPartners,
including Minnesota OSHA, Ramsey County Department of Public
Health, Fairview Hospital Employee Health Services, and
corporate sites such as 3M and General Mills. Duties specific to
the chief resident included organizing weekly conferences, serving
as a liaison between faculty and residents, orienting new residents,
representing residents at monthly graduate medical education
committee meetings, attending biannual resident advisory
committee meetings, and providing general assistance to other
residents when needed.
2007-2009 Board member, HealthPartners Institute for Medical
Education. Represented residents and medical students at
quarterly board meetings.
2008-2009 Graduate Medical Education Committee member,
HealthPartners Institute for Medical Education.
January/February 2008 Committee member, HealthPartners Institutional Internal
Review. This committee reviewed the GME office and the
residency programs to assess compliance with ACGME
requirements and made recommendations where appropriate.
2005-2007 Medical examiner, Exam One Paramedical Services and APPS
Paramedical Services. Performed complete medical histories and
physical exams, as well as blood, urine, and EKG acquisition, for
life and disability insurance policies.
2004-2005 Internal medicine intern, Indiana University School of
Medicine. Performed all required duties, including admission of
new patients, daily rounding, order input, history and physical
assessment, and overnight call Q4 or Q5.

Research
Successfully defended MPH thesis which involved original research using workers compensation
claims to study associations between provider type and outcomes for work-related low back pain.
Hobbies
My passions are travel, both within the United States and abroad, and outdoor activities
including hiking, camping, and skiing. I also enjoy photography, leisure reading, watching
independent films, tennis, biking, and running.
