Managed business development of Engineering Services in Manufacturing process & Lean Kaizen.

Process Improvement Performance Based Project implemented in a composites facility in Scandinavia.

Director of Plant Operations (2010 2013)

Managed full P&L of a $65M operation and transformed it to process driven with predictable business

results by applying risk analysis, lean principles, cost controls, defining and improving business

processes, and creating a culture of information sharing, data driven decision making, and accountability.

Transition success measured by the following business and operational metrics:

Increased EBITDA to $65M, or 25%, and cash flow by reducing operating costs and work re

assignments.

• Improved customer satisfaction KPIs by applying state of the art Lean, Root cause and corrective

actions and TOC methodologies resulting to OTD >90% and OTQ 99% ; zero customer defects.

Reduced internal scrap rate by 45% for metallic and 20% in composites resulting to significant savings.

• CAPEX : extrusion profiler machine; CATIA V5 upgrades 5 stations; r efurbished major

machines such as stretch former, semi auto riveting machine, H/T oven; doubled lay up area for

composites; & installed new anodizing line for 18 ft long parts for C130J.

Trained successfully ( >80% integration) 130 new mechanics to undertake C130J & F16 assembly loads.

Established lean lay out for F 16 assembly line with estimated savings of 10% of lost time.

Production Manager, Composites (2008 2010)

Led a team of 25 technicians and engineers handling the fabrication of NH90 Helicopter cabin composite

parts for Eurocopter Germany. Developed ramp door and hatch of NH90 for Agusta Westland.

• Achieved OTD >95 % by implementing detail production scheduling and OTQ 99% & internal scrap rate reduction

by 40% through effective root cause and corrective actions.

Production Manager, Metallic Primary Parts (2006 2010)

Led & Supervised 120 front line technicians for fabrication (machining, Sheet metal, tubing, welding,

coating, chemical processes) of metallic primary parts in 3 shifts. Also, responsible for tool fabrication/

modifications. Aluminum, titanium, inconnel, steel plates & forgings processed.

• Monitored value streams, capacity planning and achieved balanced uninterrupted production using TOC principles.

Achieved > 30% reduction of non value adding activities.

• Increased critical machine availability by > 20% by set-up reduction and NC programs optimization.

• Established SPC & machine probing programs for precision parts achieving reduction of defects > 60%.

• Established Corrective Action Teams for effective corrective actions of F-16 and Airbus A320/321 assemblies.

• Successful FAA audits and 'Gold Quality Level' status from Boeing by applying Lean -Kaizen methodologies.

• Executive-level LMAero & US government presentations of quality improvement plans for the F-16.

• Led SPC programs for precision machine parts for GE & supervised a master's thesis on SPC applications.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager (1998 2002)

Led a team of 50 engineers responsible for new part & component developments (FAP/FAI). Five direct reports from RFQs,

configuration control & methods, tool design, NC programming & MRB - Special Process engineering. Managed large

number of RFQs and product developments from all major aircraft and engine OEMs.
