Brazil, & China.
Senior Manufacturing Expert (Business Development Manager)
Managed business development of Engineering Services in Manufacturing process & Lean Kaizen.
• Developed and delivered near $1 M high margin projects, including:
Process Improvement Performance Based Project implemented in a composites facility in Scandinavia.
Pragmatic & proven Lean-Kaizen methodology & tools : VSM, testing, implement and control process
improvements. Exceeded the target of 50% reduction of throughput time, lay-up time and non-quality cost.
ATR parts transfer from Airbus to a French tier II manufacturer ( proposal preparation with MPS, QAP &
IQP)
• Developed-Deployed Sonaca's Lean-Kaizen Tool Kit.
Hellenic Aerospace Industry (Aerospace Manufacturing), Greece
1989 – 2013
A $65M global commercial & military manufacturing facility based in a 400K sq ft modern facility with
400 employees
Director of Plant Operations (2010 2013)
Managed full P&L of a $65M operation and transformed it to process driven with predictable business
results by applying risk analysis, lean principles, cost controls, defining and improving business
processes, and creating a culture of information sharing, data driven decision making, and accountability.
Transition success measured by the following business and operational metrics:
Increased EBITDA to $65M, or 25%, and cash flow by reducing operating costs and work re
•
assignments.
• Improved customer satisfaction KPIs by applying state of the art Lean, Root cause and corrective
actions and TOC methodologies resulting to OTD >90% and OTQ 99% ; zero customer defects.
Reduced internal scrap rate by 45% for metallic and 20% in composites resulting to significant savings.
•
Reduced 75% discrepancies of C130J program by applying effective root cause analysis methodologies.
•
• Secured 100% detail parts flow for the C130J by performing end to end risk analysis and re
evaluating strategic outsourcing. Re engineered (3 D modeling) all 1200 parts for quick in house
fabrication capability.
• CAPEX : extrusion profiler machine; CATIA V5 upgrades 5 stations; r efurbished major
machines such as stretch former, semi auto riveting machine, H/T oven; doubled lay up area for
composites; & installed new anodizing line for 18 ft long parts for C130J.
Trained successfully ( >80% integration) 130 new mechanics to undertake C130J & F16 assembly loads.
•
Established lean lay out for F 16 assembly line with estimated savings of 10% of lost time.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Production Manager, Composites (2008 2010)
Led a team of 25 technicians and engineers handling the fabrication of NH90 Helicopter cabin composite
parts for Eurocopter Germany. Developed ramp door and hatch of NH90 for Agusta Westland.
• Achieved OTD >95 % by implementing detail production scheduling and OTQ 99% & internal scrap rate reduction
by 40% through effective root cause and corrective actions.
Production Manager, Metallic Primary Parts (2006 2010)
Led & Supervised 120 front line technicians for fabrication (machining, Sheet metal, tubing, welding,
coating, chemical processes) of metallic primary parts in 3 shifts. Also, responsible for tool fabrication/
modifications. Aluminum, titanium, inconnel, steel plates & forgings processed.
• Monitored value streams, capacity planning and achieved balanced uninterrupted production using TOC principles.
Achieved > 30% reduction of non value adding activities.
• Increased critical machine availability by > 20% by set-up reduction and NC programs optimization.
• Established SPC & machine probing programs for precision parts achieving reduction of defects > 60%.
• Tripled production of A320 parts in 1 years. Cross trained machinists leading to reduction of lost time to > 40%.
• Successfully developed Dassault UCAV/Neuron exhaust nozzle (inconnel) & aft fuselage prototypes.
• Increased machine availability by 30% through TPM and close monitoring of maintenance team.
Quality Control Manager (2002 2006)
Led and supervised 40 front line engineers in 2 shifts responsible for product quality. Five direct reports
from QA, metrology, 2 assembly QCs, and special processes QC. Responsible for i nternal and external
audits for AS9100 and OEMs.
• Established Corrective Action Teams for effective corrective actions of F-16 and Airbus A320/321 assemblies.
