Assay Development Associate May 2011-Present
Qualify starting material, CD34 cells, and lot release final product,
Myloid Progenitor Cells (MPCs) by determining the percentages of CD34,
CD33, CD90, T-cells and lymphocytes via FACS analysis. Optimized and
trained QC department on the Neutrophil Index (NI) assay in determination
of products' potency. Colony Forming Unit (CFU) assays are executed for
both human and mouse in differentiating the starting material in the
lineage of interest by manual count of erythrocytes (BFU-E), macrophages
(CFU-M), granulocytes (CFU-G) and mixtures of GEMM & GM cells. Developed
and optimized the physical property assessments of CLT-008 for human and MA-
CLT-008 for mouse products. Optimized the ELISA assays for determining
presence of cytokines (IL3, FLT-3,SCF,mTPO) in both human and mouse final
CLT-008 products.
Accomplishments
.Qualified as a QC associate for the Quality Control Department
.Qualified as a trainer for new assay transfer
Microfluidicsystems Inc.
Research Associate II June 2007-May 2011
Developed and optimized toxin assays and modules on M-BAND using ELISA
method with paramagnetic beads and micro-chips to detect botulism and
ricin. Planned and executed PCR samples on ABI 7500 and M-BAND instruments
in detection of anthrax, Yersinia pestis and other biothreat agents.
Trouble shoot, and QC Toxin, PCR, and Archive modules on M-BAND which
includes: inspect and repair plumbing, wiring, calibrations of fluidic
sensors and optical fibers and alter or de-bug .xml scripts. Implimented
DNA cloning via pGEMT-easy vectors for end point testing on M-BAND
instruments. Drove the reagent development activities for Phase II of M-
BAND qualification. Written milestone proposals, SOPs and manual booklets
for M-BAND program and instruments.
Accomplishments
.Trainer and field engineer for employees on M-BAND instruments at Los
Alamos National Lab, Boston, Hamilton Sundstrand and Aberdeen Proving
Ground (Maryland)
.Successfully transformed the Toxin manual bench top assay to an
automated module in M-BAND instrument for bio-threat detection for the
Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

Responsible for protein purifications and conjugations of antibodies to
various florophores such as FITC, AF, TRITC, TR, AP and HRP via column
chromatography. Quality analysis of final products via ELISA,
immunefluorescent cell staining using Hela cells and Western blot.
