Project I Engine Structure Point-of-Fit Maintenance and Explosion
Client: Cummins Inc. Daventry UK
Description: Cummins EBU (engine business unit) sites
currently still maintain engine structure definition
within legacy IMS mainframe system, and HHP (high-
horsepower) sites such as Daventry and Seymour also rely
on IMS to perform engine structure explosions and build
document printing even though most business processes
are executed in Oracle ERP (enterprise resource
planning) applications.
A major project is underway to move product definition
from IMS mainframe to Wind-chill PLM (product lifecycle
management) applications, but that will not include site-
specific component point-of-fit maintenance or structure
explosion processes. This is because the Cummins
standard was to move those activities into NG-MES (next
generation manufacturing execution system).
However, not every Cummins site will implement NG-MES
due to cost and complexity issues, so the business
requirement exists for an alternative solution for
engine structure (point-of-fit) maintenance and
explosion within Oracle ERP instead.
This new Oracle solution must offer the same or greater
levels of flexibility and efficiency as the existing IMS
MSBM (master summary bill of material) and ABSN
(assembly build sequence number) functionality, with the
MSBM# being the "what" and the ABSN being the "where".
It should also support the Cummins-specific "03
language" item relationship functionality, whereby
associated items are grouped together without the
conventional need for a phantom assembly. However, the
maintenance of these item relationship setups should
remain in IMS and simply be interfaced into Oracle for
use during structure explosion, as the long-term
direction for such maintenance is that it will
eventually move to Windchill PLM applications.

Engine plant. These Engine include 19L,30L, 96L and
Marine. To maintain the business flow, Seymour Engine

During my tenure, I was involved in the
implementation and support of oracle application ERP.
I was involved into Gap Analysis,requirement
gathering,Onsite and offshore connect, user testing
for new process code development,data conversion,
interface, Reports development, provide a status and
progress report to Client and tom management, Onsite
Team Management. During this implementation I
worked on high priority issue and task and provide

. Hospital Management System- In Hospital management
system (HMS) of National Hospital, the hospital
wanted to keep information about their patient's
general information and their medical history. The
HMS is specifically designed for indoor patients
where it keeps a record of all the services rendered
to the patients accordingly bills are raised from
HMS. It provides and charges the patients
accordingly. In addition, the HMS also keeps record
of newly born baby and their registration is done
through HMS only.
. Payroll Management System-This Interface is meant for
providing Employee Details of a Employee along with
information like what allowances s/he is getting. We
can enter employee information of an employee for
further reference This Interface is meant for
entering Pascale Details from which a pay scale is
selected for an employee. This Button is meant for
taking the initiation to ADD new information or data
to a particular Interface. Then using the Save Button
we could save the information for future referencing.
. CD Library Management System-Manual Systems of
maintenance of the records was difficult to manage as
people may forget to make an entry of purchase
orders. Also placing order would take hours.
Especially when the supplier is sitting in another
state and we should have a contact with the supplier
to take the order, giving the latest position of the
orders was very difficult, and company already has
the system Designed in FoxPro but for the sake of
database security & increasing flexibility the
company wanted to design this system.
. Inventory Management System-Website for the client
that deals in sales & services of the products. The
website facilitates online registration of customers
and selling of products to them. It also provides
facility of generation purchase order for products
and spare-parts that falls under the buffer zone,
issuing spare-parts to its service & repair
department. It helps in maintaining the records of
suppliers, its Employees, Transports and generation
of Bills and Challans against sales & purchase
orders, payments received or payment made.
