Job Profile: Ciena's ON-Center is NMS suite managing various equipments
using their respective EMS, along with integration of design tool for Core
Director Switch. Responsible for planning and creating high level test
strategy and detailed test cases for various product portfolios of Ciena.
Product coverage starts from designer tools to
service layer management suite including various EMS and NMS. Responsible
for covering multiple test scenarios e.g. stand alone, integrated with NMS,
entry testing, regression, infrastructure tests ( related to FCAPS, OS and
DB).
Role:
Worked on following products (NMS/EMS) in tenure at Ciena
ON-Center: Integrated set of application to manage Ciena communication
network with client, Server, database/network three tier architecture.
CDD: This is core director designer tool used to design and simulator
real network.
CSM: This is EMS for Core Director Optical Switch equipment.
NCS: This is EMS for CN4200 MSPP family of equipments.
SLM: Service layer management.
Bridge: This is interface between NMS and SLM, NMS and CDD.
UOG: Universal OSS Gateway, North Bond Interface for Multi-vendor
interoperability.

Role: Involved in the performance testing of AMS (Alcatel EMS) in
integration with the Sun Microsystems Solaris server which involves:
Validating the Sun Solaris Server for number of users.
Benchmarking for the number of network elements to be limited on the AMS
server.
Testing the AMS server response time and finding out the multiple CPU
utilization and the Memory used by each process in the AMS.
Platform: Sun Solaris 8 and 10, SNMP, TL1, C++.
Network Elements Managed: 7300 ASAM, Litespan, 7330 FTTN, 7340 FTTU and
7342 GPON.
Major Assignment Handled at onsite after January 2006:
Done Sun Fire 6900 Sun Solaris 10 (with 24 Dual core CPUs and 200GB of real
