Position: Contracts Manager

I am very interested in the Contracts Manager position for which your company is currently recruiting. My qualifications would make me an excellent addition to your company.

As my resume indicates, I have more than 30 years of progressive experience with the federal government. My professional history includes several levels of Contracting Officers, both pre-award and post award. I have worked closely with government and contractor personnel and know what is expected from a professional standpoint. I am well versed in all areas of government contracting to include FP, Cost, CPAF, Grants, Agreements, RFPs/RFQs, SOWs, developing policies and procedures, training, auditing, internal controls, leadership and budgets. I retired as a GS-14. I also have experience in commercial contracting and consulting.

I also have 3 years as a Senior Contracts Manager with a non-profit research and development corporation which includes working on contracts/grants for the Composites Manufacturing Center and interfacing with the Office of Naval Research on the Small Business Innovation Research Program. During my time with this company I have developed and deployed a Contracting Services Team which will bring additional revenue into the company. This team assists small businesses in registering and receiving federal government contracts. I also review contract files for appropriate clauses and to ensure compliance with all regulations. I perform cost analyses and prepare Requests for Proposals and write boiler documents for other contracts personnel to use as samples.

My current position as Senior Contracts Manager for another non-profit research and development organization allows me the opportunity to hone my management skills even more. I manage/mentor Senior and Junior Contract Specialists in performing the daily non-routine and highly complex vertebrate and non-human primate research.
