related payroll costs.

policy, establishing a system of approvals, resulting in significant decreases in costs post

• Developed and implemented new strategic plan that moved company away from a
lower margin commoditized business model to higher margin, value-added revenue
streams. Plan involved the closure or sale of less profitable operations, the acquisition of
new operations, and the creation of new strategic alliances. The plan also included a
complete operations review and a resultant turnaround plan to decrease operating costs
and increase margins
• Negotiated a restructuring/refinancing of bank borrowing agreements, establishing
greater fixed term and working capital lines together with less onerous terms and
conditions.
• Designed and implemented a budgeting and reporting system that created,
amongst other things, a system of accountability for the separate operations and
managers.
• Established accounting department discipline by reorganizing functions, preparing
job descriptions, and retraining staff.
