2007-2014 DIGITURK Digital Platform Communication Services (PayTV)

Senior Software Engineer, Anti-Piracy, Dept. of Research & Product

Development

Digiturk is the largest PayTV operator in Turkey with 4 million Satellite and

IPTV subscribers. Digiturk has the show rights of Turkish Premier Football

League, for which the company paid over $600.000.000 for two years.

Accomplishments:

Development of various software projects (C#, C++, asp.net) to

detect and avoid pirate distribution of Digiturk content to

unauthorized users over internet and satellite.

Designed and developed P2P Analysis tool for detection of smart

card serials on pirate cardsharing networks (Which allowed us to

black out pirate user subscriptions), saved the company over

40.000.000 $ of changing every subscribers smart cards for 4 more

years.

Contributed software engineering expertise in the development of

products through the software lifecycle, from requirements

definition through successful deployment.

Taking action against PayTV hackers/pirates by understanding how

they break the encryption algorithm or how they distribute

broadcasts.

Development of automatic takedown tool for YouTube and Google

Videos using video fingerprinting technology google provides. (After

deployment, Large portion of Pirate content shared over youtube

and google videos are removed automatically without user

interaction)

Accomplishments:

Implementation and development of all core parts of DesktopGate

Employee Monitoring project.

DesktopGate is a software developed with C++, Delphi and C#. The

project required system and driver development, SQL Server, TCP/IP

communication, asymmetric encryption, multithreading and image

processing.

DesktopGate allows live monitoring and logging of employee computers for

workplaces demanding very high security. It can also be used as a remote

desktop and support tool for any IT team. It is still being used by

companies with over 100 computers.

2006-2007 ASPX Shop

Software Engineer

ASPX Shop was one of the first e-commerce applications developed with

.NET platform in Turkey.

Duty: Development of Advanced .NET based e-commerce application

which supports multiple gateways like bank API’s, Paypal & 2checkout.

2005-2006 Sabah Newspaper

Web Developer

Sabah is one of the top-selling newspapers in Turkey at the time of this

project with over 1 million subscribers.

Dial-Up internet was widely used in Turkey with very low bandwidth. To

display fast loading pages with consuming minimum bandwidth, the

company needed a server-side application that renders the newspaper

image efficiently.

Duties:

Development of User interface for the visitors to view/zoom large

newspaper pages with real time server side resized images (like

Google Maps, nowadays).

Worked on both client and server side programming using PHP and

JavaScript for e-media website.
