Successfully self-employed since the inception of East Gippsland Dental Laboratories fifteen years ago, saw my
organization offering individually tailor made dental prosthetic solutions to patients and clientele alike. Patients and
clientele were generated and captured with newly developed and strategically implemented initiatives inclusive of
various advertising and face-to-face networking mediums. Additionally, I was responsible for all facets of my business,
inclusive of but not limited to the following:
• Establishment and implementation of daily business and surgery routines including set-up, sterilization,
equipment maintenance procedures, surgery shut down, checking messages-returning calls and scheduling
appointments
• Product design and development
• Laboratory systematical development and implementation
• Competitor pricing analysis and research resulting in a high quality product and service offering that was both
competitive in price industrially but also affordable to the targeted demographic of patients
• Successfully identifying suitable, affordable and practical patient dental plans and outcomes – including a
forecasted timeline of treatments, check-ups and ongoing maintenance requirements
• Quality control – ensuring all dental products maintained the highest quality standard, spanning from implant
retained, dentures (full and partial) as well as crown and bridges
• Ensuring all OH&S systems, procedures and policies were being adhered to and documented if necessary
• Management of up to 17+ employees in varying positions from dental technician to dental prosthetists with a
management style that focus’ on Open Book Management – resulting in a harmonious workplace
environment whereby stress levels were decreased rapidly, employee retention was increased, decreased level
of human error with products, decreased expenditure in employee wages, decreased expenditure of
operational based costs, increased revenue generated with a combination of higher level retention of patients
