Project Title:

“Profile Modification and Validation of a Spur gear to increase the tooth strength”

Description:

In order to overcome the everlasting demand of rise in strength of components

and tremendous increase in the production of materials day by day, our project is mainly

aimed at increasing the tooth strength of a spur gear by varying gear ratio and materials

required for its manufacturing, we have varied the gear ratio from 3:1 to 4:1 and 5:1 for

two wheeler Hero Honda CD100 by adapting different materials required for its

manufacturing and checked for which ratio the transition capacity is higher at the same

engine speed and which material bears less stresses.

Future Scope:

Increase in mileage of the vehicle, durability and life of the gear box.

Visited Narla Tatarao Power Station (NTPS) at Vijayawada on December 24th 2012.

Visited Reliance Power Plant at Samalkot on March 7th 2013.
