Global Edge Software Ltd, Bangalore, India Dec 01
- June 03
Role: Software Engineer
DVD Video Recorder at Philips Software - Consumer Electronics Division
Description :
Platform Interface Layer:
The purpose of Platform Interface Layer (PFI) is to have a common
methodology to access the platform functionality via platform interface
calls.
For Chrysalis platform, before accessing a platform interface, a
subscription to the platform is needed and the interface handle is acquired
by the application. And using this handle platform layer is accessed for
platform functionality. All the events from the platform have to be
subscribed and the address of a call back function is passed. All events
are handled in a separate call back function.
Each application component has respective PFI component.
Integration and Testing of Control Layer:
Control layer has lot of components specific to certain functionalities,
which were developed independently. The integration and testing was done on
the target.
Role : Coding of PFI components, integration testing for control layer
components, which involved writing Test specification and scripting.
Environment : 'C' on Solaris and Chrysalis Platform.
Tools : Hummingbird Exceed, Test Generator v4.6, Multi-Edit8.0, Vision
Probe (h/w), Vision click.

ECG Stress Test System and Active Echo Canceller
Description : ECG Stress Test System: Designed Low pass filter to remove
tremor, which is caused by the high frequency signals due to the chest
muscle movements of the patient. Also designed High pass Filter for
baseline drift removal caused due to direct or indirect effects of patient
respiration or due to slow electrochemical changes at the electrode- skin
interface.
Active Echo Canceller: In telephone networks, the echo is caused due to
analog device caused due to analog device called 2-to-4 wire hybrid, which
splits duplex signals in to two simplex signals. Due to electrical
leakage of current in the hybrid, a part of the signal energy is reflected
back to the source of the signal. This is called echo, which disturbs the
talker. For this we use LMS algorithm to adapt the step size. This depends
on the input signal.
Role : Designing using Matlab 5.3 & coding using Assembly language
programming and C.
Environment : Matlab 5.3
Processor : TMS320C50, TMS320C54.
