2 Projects

In 2011 I developed most of a case management system for a private

investigator and friend, the system was planned and structured to store and

keep organized a wide body of records necessary to track and document cases

under investigation and generate documentation suitable for legal

presentation.

The system was developed in Visual Basic. net and made use of a local

Database using XML and accessed via SQL queries, and made use of object

inheritance to simplify managing similar but different types of records.

The development processes involved regular meetings with the client to

create a set of requirements and expectations for a system that would meet

his needs and the kind of work flows it would need to go through, with

subsequent meetings to refine the used interface and the kinds of data the

system would hold, including walking through case studies of potential

cases.

The client closed their PI business before the completion of the project

but was impressed with the user interface and working sections completed so

far.

Over the past year and a half I have been working on a personal on going

project to better understand and develop applications using 3d spatial

mapping, primarily using the Microsoft Kinect sensor and SDK by

implementing versions of the "Kinect Fusion" system, a process that takes

3d frames from the sensor and integrate them into a larger model of a given

space, and makes that model exploitable.

The series of exploratory applications were created in Visual Studio and

written in C#, along with exploring the features of the Kinect system I

made use of multithreading and Tasks to improve wait times and

responsiveness.

Each iteration has extended the functionality of the user interface of the

3d scan and display and has used more of my own original code, while

improving my understanding of underling concepts.

Respond to client calls at their homes to diagnose and resolve computer and

related peripheral problems, as well as provide consultation and training

for use of applications. Additionally I developed several small

applications for individual clients using VB.net, SQL, and XML.
