Logan Oil Tools

Grinder

When the parts come from the weld shop, I have to remove the welds, polish, and deburr all the pieces. We receive over

size guides, smaller guides, wall hook guides, flat bottom mill shoe, mill shoe, basket grapple, spear grapple, mill control

body. When receiving the material with carbide (mill shoe & flat bottom mill) we have to remove the slag off the carbide

to make sure it’s ready for magnuflux. The guides and wall hooks must be kept at a 45 degree angle when grinding off

the slag to make the pieces smooth. The mill control body has a finger welded on to the ring, the weld must be remov ed

and polished. The finger has a certain height dimension that must be kept, so I have to refer to the print to ensure the

tolerances are met, if it’s too high the top of the finger needs to be grinded down. Spiral grapples also have a finger that

needs to be within tolerance. Before the finger is welded on to the grapple, they come to the grind shop as 2 pieces in 1

where they must be broken or pried apart depending on their size. They provided me for the company forklift license.

July 2011 - May 2013 - Houston, Texas

National Oilwell Varco

Machinist

Operated a manual shaper. Shaped splines to specified print with tight tolerances. If the gauge for that specific part did

not enter properly, I had to pin point which section of the spline wall it was touching or if it was touching the i.d. I have

experience with cnc lathe hitachi seiki g-code and how to turn the out diameters from raw material on a manual lathe. I

have knowledge of o.d mic's, i.d mic's and an indicator. I learned how to use the straightener press for mandrels and

made sure that sections of the mandrels were not egged. If one section was bent, I had to make sure the section was

within 2-3 thousandths within tolerance.

The Lynd Co

Maintenance Tech

At the beginning of the shift my duty was to walk the property to make sure the grounds were free of trash and debris.

Every other day had to make sure pool water levels were correct, vacuum the pool, back wash the sand filters and

chlorinate the water. I had to make sure that the living quarters of the apartment were in excellent condition. I

conducted sheet rock repair, a/c and heating unit maintenance, prepped the apartment for painting, fixed door jams,

window seals and trim work.
