Experience
7/14 Lead Manufacturing Project Engineer, AIT (Tooling and Aerospace Products) – Grand Prairie, Tx
–
Complete turn-key project management for the manufacture of both aerospace products and their tooling which started with
3/15
thorough reviews of customer’s RFQs per their requirements (SOW’s), the creation and submittal of detailed quotes while
becoming their direct contact / liaison for all communications thru the life of the project. Received Purchase Orders and
conducted Contract Reviews to kick-off newly awarded projects. Wrote and issued detailed Work Orders for every
operation required to build the tool or product. Worked with Purchasing to order all materials and coordinated with outside
vendors to ensure that their products / services would ultimately meet our expectations as well as delivery dates in for on
time delivery. Worked directly with Quality Control addressing any issues while considering tool or operational
modifications to ensure compliant products.
3/13 Tooling / Product Estimator, Sawyer Composite (High end composite tools and products within the aerospace
– industry) – Ft. Worth, Tx
7/14
Creating highly accurate “real time” quotes based upon the thorough review of the customer’s RFQ and requirements while
obtaining and comparing to Profit and Loss data reports of projects consisting of similar geometry, material, and volumes.
This not only supported AS9100 compliancy with risk mitigation, but also helped to ensure the company would most always
receive a profit (continuous improvement). Documented all hours and material expenses of completed projects for quoting
on future RFQs and data retrieval. Assessed data and documented issues that were encountered during the process of a
project. Held “Post Project” meetings with various department supervisors to address issues found during projects by
establishing Corrective Action Reports (CARs).
7/05 Tooling Manager, Texstars (Plastic and composite products manufacturer within the aerospace industry) – Grand
– Prairie, Tx
3/13
Originally hired in 2005 as a Project Engineer specializing for all Injection Mold projects. Internally promoted in 2010 as
the Tooling Manager.
As the Tooling Manager, I was directly responsible and over saw the complete operation of all tooling project operations
(new, repairable, and preventative maintenance). This responsibility consisted of directing a very specialized team of eleven
personnel (1 tool maker, 8 pattern makers, and 2 tooling coordinators) to complete projects on time in order to support
production. Created quotes and made the purchases for all outside tooling vendors / services. Conducted primary
interviews of prospective applicants as well as yearly evaluations of existing employees. Approved timesheets and vacation
requests. Worked directly with all project engineers and quality personnel to ensure that the tools were manufactured /
repaired per requirements. Helped to design and make decisions for all secondary operational tools. Completely
responsible for the inventory and preventative maintenance of more than 8,800 tools (injection, blow, vacuum, trim & drill).
As a Project Engineer with Texstars (2005-2010), I was the company’s sole source for all plastic injection molding projects.
Using outside vendors, I would quote and obtain the proper proposals for injection mold purchases, design all secondary
operational tools, write detailed Work Orders pertaining to each assigned project and work as the direct contact between the
customer and Texstars. Would see (follow) every project from start to finish (“Cradle to Grave” concept). Always at every
First Shot and often helped with minor processing issues by obtaining and documenting information with our resin suppliers
which resulted in more positive results than none. Was also the sole Waterjet and Composite Ply Laser Projector
Programmer (using Flow Path and FiberSIM).
6/95 Plastic Injection Mold Designer: RAM Inc., LASCO, and Intralox (Plastic injection product manufacturers)
–
Ram Inc. (plastic part manufacturer servicing the aerospace industries), Cisco Tx: 10/98 thru 7/05
7/05
Lasco (PVC pipe fitting manufacturer), Brownsville Tn: 7/98 thru 10/01
Intralox (plastic modular conveyor belt manufacturer), Harahan La: 6/95 thru 7/98
Complete design of cold runner plastic injection molds. Created and dimensioned all “build-to” prints. Reviewed quality
inspection reports and made tool design modification changes if required to produce targeted results.
9/92 Chauffeur, Linda’s Limousine - Metairie, La
–
Provided professional services by driving clients to desired locations where being courteous, having an immaculate driving
6/95
record as well as always being on time was an absolute must.
8/88 Rifleman / Infantry: United States Marine Corps
–
Standard requirements as a 0311 rifleman while in the Marine Corps. Was chosen to and completed a very strenuous
8/92
Battalion Squad Leader Course. Was heavily involved in Desert Storm and have been awarded numerous medals and
ribbons for the support provided. Discharged with Honors.

accomplishments:
Te Saved as well as helped to create a multi-million dollar contract with a governmental client by having a new injection
xs mold built to replace an older one that failed just short of its contract obligation date. This was a major concern to our
ta customer in which they did not have many options available. Not only were we able to manufacture a new tool at a
rs lower cost than to repair it, but the overall aesthetics and quality of the product was the best the customer had received
within the last 10 years of production. The result lead to what would have been the remaining balance of a one year
contract in 2010 to a new and extended contract which is still running today.
Created a tooling database consisting of the locations, detailed information, preventative maintenance scheduling and the
Page 2
photos of over 8,800 tools. This accomplishment alone literally saved over 200 hours per year which was previously
wasted looking for tools at times when they were needed the most (production, audits, preventative maintenance). It
also was the answer for a corrective action from a previous AS9100 audit finding.
A Created a very easy to use, but extremely result driven Tooling and Product estimating spreadsheet for AIT that they
IT have adapted and use today. This estimating sheet contains many complex formulas and is linked to other documents
which help to develop profit and loss reports following the completion of awarded projects.
Played a major role with the initial startup and AS9100 certification for AIT in Grand Prairie Tx.
20 Certificate, Plastics and Processing for Injection Molds – Paulsen on-line Training.
