It is with great anticipation that I present my résumé to you for a position as a Per
Diem Registered Nurse. My experience includes working as a registered nurse in the Pre
Operative screening department at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington Virginia for
seven months, working for Medstar Georgetown University Hospital on a medical
surgical floor specializing in orthopedics and plastics for four years. I also worked 8
months as a registered nurse in the float pool at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center
in Midlothian Virginia as a medical surgical float nurse, and currently work as a PRN
nurse at High Point Regional Medical Center. I have also earned my North Carolina,
Virginia and Washington D.C. licensure as a Registered Nurse. I also have completed a
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English degree at
George Mason University in Fairfax Virginia.
As a compassionate and versatile individual, my most rewarding work has been
using my medical skills and experience to help the community. Working in the pre
operative department at Virginia Hospital Center and as a nurse on a medical surgical
floor have shaped me into a very skilled and well rounded nurse. While working in my
position as a float nurse at Bon Secours St. Francis Medical Center I have received my
certification in telemetry and my ACLS. Floating to different floors at High Point
Regional Medical Center has also given me more skills and experience with all different
medical surgical patients. All of these positions have exposed me to a wide array of
individuals, medical practices, and healthcare concerns. I believe I possess a broad
knowledge base and a well-rounded set of skills. My areas of expertise include, but are
certainly not limited to: medication expertise, health assessment, anesthesia guidelines,
pre operative guidelines and nursing care, wound care, medical terminology and
medication administration skills, skin care interventions, maintaining sterile fields and
application of dressings, intravenous therapy, infection prevention, care plan
development, emergency procedures, charting and documentation of patient care,
telemetry, discharge planning with the medical team, and handling all tasks as per
hospital policies and procedures.
My goal is to establish a nurturing and supportive environment, which promotes
quality of life. I seek to provide my patients with the best care, and will go the extra mile
to make certain they remain happy and healthy.
Sincerely,
Joan Bailey
