Responsibilities :
Marketing Oils (March '98 – Dec’00) : Was responsible for importing & marketing Soft oils produced from
Glencore’s South American plants and handling related execution. Included own-imports & CNF Sales.
Soya Crushing (Oct’97 – Aug’99) : Was responsible for complete Soya crushing operations starting from
Identification & evaluation of potential leasing partners, negotiation/finalisation of leasing agreements,
working-capital management, day-to day plant running, SoyaBean procurement, domestic crude oil sales, meal
sales & related execution, personnel management etc.
Trading/Hedging (Oct’96 – Dec’00) :
- Procurement of wheat & rice on FOB basis from Indian exporters/shippers in 1996-97.
- Taking trading positions relating to beans, meal & oil.

Contract management & Logistics : co-ordination with various counter parties, service-providers & stake-
holders involved to ensure timely, smooth & efficient execution. Ensuring workable L/cs(oil imports); timely
availability of cargoes(export) prior to vessel arrival; Vessel-discharge, demurage/despatch settlement.
Market Intelligence & MIS : Collect & provide crucial local & macro level information to facilitate position
building. Devise MIS to facilitate position reporting, funds projection, stocks/inventory, WIP etc.
Key achievements :
Handled procurement & execution of close to 800,000MT Wheat and 400,000MT Rice out of India.
Marketed 300,000 MT Soft oils (Sun & Soya oil), 200,000 MT wheat into India and apprx. 300,000 MT
Rapeseed into Pakistan. Also traded 150,000MT Sunflower oil locally ex-tank in Mumbai/JNPT.
Successfully crushed 90,000MT & 80,000MT soyabeans in 1997-98 & 1999-00 respectively & originated
150,000MT soymeal for Glencore’s destination sales.
