Human Resources Manager

Responsible for the Sun Valley facility with three shifts reporting to the

VP of Human Resources. Duties included maintaining strong employee

relations with both management and production personnel, oversaw the yearly

performance review process, handled the recruitment and new hire

orientation, conducted the yearly open enrollment process and assisted with

employee insurance inquires as requested.

. Chaired the Safety Committee with the goal of reaching one million hours

without a recordable injury or lost time and responding to appropriate

regulatory agencies as required.

. Strategized with management for the purpose of identifying high potential

personnel for a development plan towards succession planning, as well as

provided guidance for management in the counseling of continued

management as it pertained to the new policies and procedures as well

as a new yearly performance review process for this facility.

The Cheesecake Factory/Bakery Division November '05 - February

'10

Human Resources Director

Key partner of the senior management team reporting directly to the

President of the Bakery Division, responsible for the Calabasas,

California and Rocky Mount, North Carolina Bakery Division facilities. A

total of five direct reports to support three shifts, to include both

facilities, with a non-union population in the Calabasas facility of 500

employees and in Rocky Mount, a total of 500+ non-union employees.

. Managed a budget which included Safety, Training and Human

Resources.

. Responsibilities included overseeing the success of the three departments

noted above for both facilities. Areas included recruitment and

retention, identifying high potentials, succession planning with

management, the annual performance and merit review process, overseeing

the diversity programs as well as the various benefit plans and strategic

planning with senior management as it pertained to the KPI numbers. In

addition, was responsible for responding to governmental agencies as

required.

. A strong safety awareness training program was maintained and managed

with emphasis placed on no injuries or lost days. In the area of

employee training, timely certifications for hourly personnel were

conducted due to the vast variety of cheesecake products that were made

as well as the adherence to the management training schedule and the

success of it. Was also responsible for the security contract and guards

of both facilities.

. Grand opening and staffing of a new 146,000 square foot manufacturing

location in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

. Introduction of a new HRIS system as it pertained to the tracking and

recruitment of all positions for the two plant facilities.

employee relations with both management as well as manufacturing

personnel.

all the facets of the Human Resources arena to include benefits,

compensation, employee performance, management and employee counseling,

Human Resources Manager

Responsibilities included contract negotiations, grievance handling,

interpretation of union contracts and arbitrations. In addition, managed

all areas related to the Human Resources function. Successfully handled

the merger of the television station when purchased by The Walt Disney

Company and oversaw the organizational restructuring as well as major

expansion of the News Department. Other responsibilities included

responding to federal and state agency investigations thus consistently

obtaining a favorable ruling on behalf of the employer.
