OBJECTIVE
To seek a career in Design, Product Development and Quality Improvement to create superior machines
SUMMARY
I have two years of experience in design, manufacturing and testing of engines’ casting, forging and machining in
design release and early production stages with following roles; Design Engineering, Product development,
Quality improvement, Change management and Dimensional variation analysis.
Product Development – Process selection and planning of cast and forged components for machining
feasibility, supplier design issues, efficiency, reliability and cost reduction; current and new product
introductions in early production stages
Quality Improvement - Dimensional Variation Analysis (DVA), Client Engineering Specifications, Process
flow diagrams for machining, Root Cause analysis, Design for Six-sigma, Statistical process control, Process
capability, Engineering standards
Dimensional Metrology - Dial Indicators for geometrical accuracies of CNC machines, Pneumatic gages,
Analyzing CMM and surface finish reports, Oil Leak testers, Vernier calipers, micrometer, thread gages
Hands-on experience with 3D CAD tools such as Pro-E, NX, CATIA, AutoCAD for modeling and
assembly, GD&T, Finite element analysis (FEA), vehicle testing, CNC programming, Prototyping for DVP
& R - milling, turning, grinding, welding, honing and sheet-metals

Mechanical Engineering Intern
CertainTeed Corp., Plymouth, WI (Jun-Aug 2014)
The job involved continuous improvement, quality control, maintenance planning in a ceiling lamination plant
Developed maintenance plans for lamination, splitting, trimming and milling machines
Used statistical sampling for new lamination glue usage and requirement, resulting significant cost saving
Design projects on duct work and spring block for various thickness of ceilings as continuous improvement
Introduced cold-jet equipment and updated the plant layout using AutoCAD
COMPUTER SKILLS
Siemens NX Pro-E AutoCAD MATLAB MS Office
Team-Center SolidWorks CATIA HyperMesh Minitab
PROJECTS
SAE- BAJA – Design of ATV (Fall 2010)
The aim of this national competition is to design and build an off-road vehicle that will survive a rough terrain
Managed chassis/suspension and leaded multiple teams to facilitate prototyping of other sub-systems
Performed CAD modeling and impact tests using Pro-E and HyperMesh for chassis and suspensions
Built three chassis prototypes for validation of cockpit, suspension and engine mountings
Fabricated chassis (roll-cage) and wishbones by welding and grinding processes
Steering Performance Testing of SUV, Michigan Tech (Spring 2014)
The project was focused on testing the deviation in required steering angle of an SUV by varying position of center
of gravity by adding half ton of additional weight fixture in different vehicle locations
Developed a math model in MATLAB to locate the CG of vehicle
Designed and built a prototype front hitch fixture to shift vehicle CG for the selected SUV
Instrumented sensors for data-acquisition of steering position, speed and yaw rate
Tested on-road steering performance at various speeds and turn radii
Design, Prototyping and Testing of Steam Turbine, Forbes-Marshall (Spring 2012)
The objective of this project was to design a steam turbine to replace pressure reducing valve in steam boilers and
recover the energy wasted due to the use of pressure valve
Designed a steam turbine including rotor, blades, casing, shaft, bearings, mounting support and a gearbox
Built a turbine prototype using turning, grinding and welding for test and validation of feasibility.
