• Subject Matter Expert (SME) & Lean Practitioner (TPM, 5-S, SMED, etc). Facilitated 29 five day Kaizen
burst events to 3 of the 24 plants in the division. Documented savings captured was $3.5mm in inventory
reductions & $750m in annual costs reductions.
• Coordinated monthly process champion forums across the division for each of the primary disciplines in
paperboard converting: printing, cutting, finishing, & equipment maintenance; this & actions by others
eased the integration of the legacy companies.
Focused Improvement Engineer, Consumer Packaging Division (formerly of Smurfit-Stone) 2005 - 2006
• Worked with site leadership of the 16 plants in the division to assess & prioritize opportunities using a Zero
Based Analysis (ZBA) approach. Facilitated over 20 four-day Kaizen like events to recover targeted cost
reductions.
• Provided training to plant leaders in structured problem solving.
IVEX PACKAGING CORPORATION Bellwood & Bridgeview, IL
Plant Manager 2005
• Responsible for all activities at the Bellwood paper converting facility; staff consisted of 1 salaried & 14
hourly personnel. Simultaneously responsible for operations at Bridgeview facility of 3 salaried & 40
hourly employees; $20mm in annual sales.
• Restored positive EBITDA to Bellwood plant, outside warehouse of finished goods vacated, & enough
space in the Bridgeview plant freed to later incorporate all Bellwood operations.

• Initiated numerous plant improvement projects including a design & financial justification for plant
compressed air generation system: $150m project completed with 0.8 year payback on energy savings &
down time avoidance.
• Worked with Illinois Safety Council (ISC) to develop employee driven safety program. Bridgeview plant
received public recognition & award from ISC in 2005 for Recordable Incident Rate (RIR) of 0.0.
EARTH TECH ENVIRONMENTAL Oak Brook, IL

• As lead auditor assisted the environmental staff at ISPAT-Inland Steel toward ISO 14001certification.
• Provided Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) to the Illinois EPA on two separate multi-million dollar

• Commanded 81-mm Mortar Platoon through overseas deployment as independent maneuver element; solely
