• TITLE: Hazardous Chemical Transportation accidents in Trivandrum district using CAMEO
Software
Organisation : INSTITUTE OF LAND AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT TVPM
Description : Perform vulnerability assessment of LPG transportation and accessing the
social vulnerability and hazardous associated with road transport of chemicals. A software
package called CAMEO developed by United Nations Environmental Protection Agency was
used for the study. CAMEO is a combination of two modules, ALOHA and MARPLOT.
ALOHA is an atmospheric dispersion model used for evaluating release of hazardous
chemical vapors. The study analysed the possibilities of chemical hazard posed by the
transportation of hazardous chemicals in Trivandrum district. Data sets were compiled from
Fire and Safety Department and Public Works Department.
