RE: Letter of Reference for LaTresa Shaver

I am happy to provide this letter of recommendation for LaTresa Shaver, my former colleague at J.B. Hunt Logistics Inc.

and Transplace. I have known LaTresa for over 20 years, working with her for 14 of those years, and so believe that I am

qualified to offer both a character and professional reference for her. The working relationship between LaTresa and I has

covered the full spectrum from co-workers tactically servicing logistics account needs, to manager and employee

implementing business and technical solutions for a wide spectrum of customers.

LaTresa and I first worked together at J.B. Hunt Logistics (JBHL) in the early 90’s. At that time, LaTresa was a key

account representative for the Libbey Owens Ford account, responsible for securing capacity and ensuring on-time

performance within a JIT automotive supply chain. In a constantly changing and high-pressure environment, LaTresa

maintained a calm and balanced control of the customer relationship and absolutely contributed to long-term business

awarded through an annual bidding process. When a dedicated “start-up” project team was formed in the mid-90’s,

LaTresa was selected to join as an implementation manager, contributing her considerable work experience and practical

knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS).

JBHL and the logistics business units of five competitors were aggregated to form Transplace in 2000. An immediate

corporate charter for this newly formed entity was the creation of a proprietary, best-in-class, web-based TMS. LaTresa

was again recognized for her operational competencies and recruited to manage the user acceptance testing team.

LaTresa worked closely with software engineers, other technical managers, and business owners to draft meaningful test

cases that adequately assessed functional requirements. As the Senior Vice President responsible for all Information

Technology areas of Transplace, including development and testing resources, I knew I could rely on LaTresa to actively

represent the business voice in the change control process.

While our professional paths diverged as we both pursued our respective career interests, I have maintained contact with,

and interest in, LaTresa’s ongoing work and personal development.

I think I occupy a unique position having worked with LaTresa professionally over several years. There are many aspects

of LaTresa’s makeup that are constant: her unwavering commitment to deliver high-quality results, her desire to share

knowledge as a leader and mentor, and her ability to recognize when business issues are critical and require a passionate

resolve.

To put it succinctly, LaTresa is an excellent resource and I don’t hesitate to offer my unqualified and favorable

recommendation.

Sincerely,

Shannon Boyd
