Process Technician 2 April 2011 to July 2014

Operated production lines including a monorail fed tunnel washer, a

duel crane zinc plating line, an annealing furnace, a descale pickle and

soap line, a brine heat treating line, and steam generators.

Plant startup tasks included the initial chemical charging of the tunnel

washer and the plater line.

Chemical testing done on line chemical tanks and the steam generator

feedwater.

Unpacked and inventoried a large amount of packed operations

equipment.

Set up titration stations near all production lines. Worked with the

safety director to get all safety and laboratory equipment needed for

operation of the RIA facility.

Wrote the startup and shutdown procedures for the Siemens IWTP

system, the steam generator system, and the annealing furnace and

soap coat line.

Generated shutdown checklists in response to common operator

omissions.

Outlined necessary changes to the treatment plant to accommodate

the waste stream generated by the production plant.

Worked with Siemens to correct system mechanical and automation

flaws.

Took the state of Illinois class K IWTP certification test for the RIA

facility and passed with a 98%.

Boiler Operator March 2010 to April 2011

Operated and maintained firetube boilers, large plant air compressors,

softeners, aerators, polishers, RO water system, air dryers, water/oil

seperators, and a nonsanitary wastewater system.

Tasks included extensive pipe fitting, manlift and forklift operation,

chemical analysis of water samples, electrical and mechanical

troubleshooting, paperwork and daily reports on lotus notes, PM's on

all plant equipment, and chemical transfers between barrels and

storage tanks.
