Senior Director PMO: Responsible for the development and management of the project management

office within the technology department of a billion dollar fitness company. Matured the portfolio and

project management discipline and instituted industry best practices. Fostered effective communication

and collaboration between technology and business departments. Staff accountability for 25 project

management professionals.

Created and staffed the PMO, including the implementation of:

o Agile project life cycle management including integration with SCRUM

o Implemented processes to increase CMM from level 1 to level 3

PMO Program Manager: As a consultant, responsible for the development of the business program

management office for the corporate toolbox and its application to multiple, million dollar initiatives.

Creation of processes to facilitate business ideation and prioritization of initiatives.

Developed and facilitated processes to support strategic road mapping and coordination between

business and technology initiatives.

Defined project governance process to ensure visibility to executive leadership.

Direct program management responsibilities for the creation of an external Provider portal to support

the automation of health care notifications and integration of newly acquired health plans across the

UnitedHealth Group enterprise.

segments.

RBC DAIN. Minneapolis, MN, December 2005 - August 2007

Sr. Program Director: As a consultant, owned the program responsible for the m erger of a retail

brokerage firm with an institutional brokerage firm to create a single broker-dealer organization in North

America for RBC (Royal Bank of Canada), focused on the Wealth Management business.

Implementation of a single brokerage platform (Broadridge), and re-branding of new organization.

o Responsible for the management of 12 projects and a total staff of 65 people, both

technology and business. This included the management of 5 key vendors.

o Total budget exceeded $24 million.

Creation of unified data analytics source for the organization through the use of an enterprise data

warehouse.

o Responsible for management of RBC and Teradata teams, both technology and business.

o Total budget exceeded $12 million (exclusive of infrastructure).

Creation of single HR function within merged organization. Reported to HR executives to ensure both

business processes and technology components would support the new organization.

o Responsible for coordination of three HR services teams: RBC, Dain, and Capital Markets.

o Total budget exceeded $3 million (exclusive of infrastructure).

AMERIPRISE. Minneapolis, MN, April 2005 - December 2005

Program Manager: As a consultant, owned the rebranding activities related to the divestiture of

American Express Financial Advisors from American Express into Ameriprise and River Source.

Facilitated the contract creation between American Express and Ameriprise allowing use of shared

systems and technology platforms for a 2 year period. This was specific to the Investments,

Insurance, and Asset Management lines of business.

Development of a Project Management Office to support the rebranding effort across all aspects of

technology.

o Used Clarity and proprietary PPM tools to support the financial management and status

reporting of programs and projects.

Management and status reporting to sponsors for all technology application rebranding and business

outputs for the new enterprise.

Responsible for the coordination of over 15 programs consisting of approximately 50 projects and a

total technology staff of over 500 people. This included management of both onshore and offshore

resources.

THRIVENT. Minneapolis, MN, September 2004 - April 2005

Senior Project Manager: As a consultant within the business, managed the effort to enforce compliance

of compensation policies across several legacy systems acquired through mergers with the goal of

limiting illegal money movement.

This included the creation and implementation of the necessary business processes.

Effort consisted of eight projects with a total budget exceeding $1 million.

ALLIANZ. Minneapolis, MN, June 1999 - September 2004

Program Manager: As a consultant, managed a number of key system initiatives across Allianz's fixed

and variable annuity organizations using Rational tools and the RUP methodology in a .NET environment.

Managed the first effort within the enterprise to give clients access to annuity information and

supported the businesses stated objective of reducing registered representative administration work.

Included the integration of a content management system (Interwoven) and document

o

management system (Onbase).

Effort consisted of three projects, each approximately $3 million in size.

o

Responsible for project teams of over 40 resources spread between 2 geographical sites.

o

Project business benefits included costs savings through elimination of hard-copy prospectus

and quarterly statements.

Delivered a series of transactional financial services web applications to support the variable annuity

business.

Effort consisted of 4 projects varying from $1 million – $3 million in size.

Responsible for project teams of over 25 resources spread between 2 geographical sites.

Spearheaded the effort to deliver a website providing agents with production information on the sales

of fixed annuity products.
