Enter doctor's orders in the computer system for phlebotomy/lab,

cardiology and radiology procedures/tests.

Draw blood, collect urine specimens, perform EKGS, do vital signs, check

and monitor oxygen saturation, discontinue IV fluids or heparin locks.

Check post-op dressings for drainage and intactness.

Place Foley catheters and discontinue. Check for post-void residuals via

straight catheter. Empty Jackson Pratt's and hemovac drains. Empty

ostomy bags.

Measure and record by mouth intake, urinary and fecal output, and drains.

Assist patients dress with shoulder abduction splints, wound vacs, or any

patients that needed assistance.

Place post-op shoes or boat cast shoe or arm slings on patients per

doctor's order and request of registered nurse.

Observe or examine patients to detect symptoms that may require medical

attention, such as a change in vital signs, difficulty breathing, bleeding

from post-op dressings, complaints of pain or nausea or possible reactions

from pain medications and or post-anesthesia.
