• Handling of all housekeeping operations including Mini Bar, Laundry, Flower and Gardens and to take daily
inspection rounds of the hotel.
• Defining service standards regarding cleanliness, amenities and maintenance in rooms and public areas, mini bar,
laundry, flower and gardens and ensure adherence to these.
• Planning of departmental budgets and ensuring effective inventory controls to achieve the required profitability
• Developing new concepts of service and methods to achieve organizational objectives
• Assistance in Suggesting and implementing preventive maintenance schedules and schedule all renovations and
regular maintenance of rooms in advance in consultation with the Front Office Manager and the Chief Engineer.
• Maintaining co ordination with the Engineering.
• Ensuring implementation of major changes in room and public area design, to achieve optimum standards.
• Ensuring quality of all hotel uniforms and linen and control issues, returns, alterations, purchases etc.
• Ensuring maintenance and upkeep of garden areas and indoor / outdoor plants as per international standards. To
ensure aesthetic standards of flower arrangements in the hotel.
• Ensuring quality laundering and dry cleaning of guest and house linen through effective coordination of the
laundry department.
• Ensuring that all equipment required for the cleaning and maintenance of rooms, public areas, laundry, Linen &
uniform, Flower & Gardens are kept in good working condition.
• Ensuring adherence to international standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all areas (guest, heart of the house).
• Liaison with finance department.
• Assisting the Food and Beverage Manager for planning and implementing events in the hotel.
• Maintaining relationship with outside vendors for tailoring, development of new items, pest control, window
cleaning and other such services.
• Attending to guest requests, and calling on ailing guests.
• Maintaining good relationship with regular and long staying guests.
