Employed full-time as a COTA and teacher in the “Self Discovery” preschool program.

Most of the c hildren presented with behavioral problems as well as developmental

delays. Our unique approach afforded many success stories. Responsibilities included,

but were not limited to, analyzing children’s files; planning/implementing treatment

programs; utilizing psychological and physical disabilities treatment principles. Court

appearances on behalf of children were also a part of our support system. Daily

m eetings were conducted with the multi-disciplinary staff. No O.T. department existed

prior to my arrival. Built the O.T. department from the ground up with OTR c onsultation.

In 1986, my husband and I were foster parents for a 4 year old, from the school, whom

we later adopted. I also bore a son in 1986, at whic h time I stayed home and

c oncentrated on family and my Masters in ECE. I returned to work in 1992 as a part -time

bicycle mechanic and s ubstitute teacher on the Military Post.
