ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Three Point Bending Test Simulation - FEA March 2013
• Investigated bending test setup for stress analysis and material plastic deformation observation
• Designed parts and assembly as per drawings and specifications for mesh sensitivity analysis
• Assigned proper mesh size, section, materials, boundaries, constraints, load conditions and contact
for the simulation
• Analyzed quasi-static equilibrium, von mises stress, maximum principal stress, forces equilibrium
• Plotted kinetic energy, internal energy, total energy, thermal behaviour graphs against time
Lean Manufacturing Implementation in Cellular Manufacturing August 2013
• Analyzed case study of manufacturing establishment which utilizes push production system which means
production regardless downstream requirements
• Developed 4M, 5 Why, Pareto chart, 5S, Just In Time (JIT) lean manufacturing tools for the root cause
analysis and eliminate non value added activities (NVA)
• Illustrated current state value stream mapping with production lead and takt time and formulated future state
value stream mapping by implementing pull production system, production and withdrawal kanban system,
reducing work in process inventories
• Increased value added (VA) activities time by 10% and decreased NVA by 7.2%, reduction of production
lead time by 75%
Inventory Model - Implementation December 2013
• Investigated case study of company which facing problem with irregularities in inventory and ordering
procedure for the implementation of Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model to reduce annual cost
• Determined order quantity, no of orders per year, annual inventory cost, holding cost, time interval between
successive orders with back order and without back order EOQ approach
• Reduced $119.3 per annum shortage cost as expenditure incurred during back orders
• Standardized order procedure, improved on time delivery, eliminated no inventory period, reduced no of
orders and average cost per annum
ACTIVITIES & ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Organized event in Ingenium-National level technical symposium during years 2009-2011
• Worked as an active member of Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and Mechanical Engineering
Students Association at Nirma University student chapter during years 2008-2012
• Certified with Autocad and Mastercam X5-Mill operator for successfully completion of courses
• Received completion certificate for an outstanding academic performance in "Essentials of Safety" course
related to Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA)
