2013-2014
E ngineering Technician, working with covert concealments testing them electrically and
p rogramming the routers, encoders, cameras, reset boards and adjusting mechanical
pedestals providing feedback to engineering on hardware or software problems and final
test for full operation and performance.
NSM Surveillance - Spring Valley, CA. 2000 –
2013 Engineering Technician working with power meters, video, audio generators,
analyzers such as spectrum analyzers and others along with signal generators to test
surveillance concealments containing microwave t ransmit ters, receivers, Low Noise
A mplifiers (LNA) and power amplifiers. Tested video and infrared cameras and PTZ
pedestals controlled by RS232 or via IP. Performed QA on equipment prototypes
received by Engineering providing feedback on found software and hardware bugs as
well as possible solutions to improve performance or fix the issues encountered by
submitting the analysis and diagnostics to a t icketing t racking system.
Televisa – Channel 12 Tijuana, Mexico 1985 -
1999
M anager, Technical Department – Directly managed an Engineering group by leading a
m ission critical operation of a Broadcast Television company. Daily duties included
Supervising the maintenance and support of a 30kw VHF Television broadcast
t ransmit ter, the stability of the Engineering News Gathering (ENG) equipment that
i ncluded audio consoles, video equipment and studio cameras. Responsible of managing
asset acquisition for the different areas supervised. Lead the migration and upgrade of
t he tube broadcast system to a Solid State t ransmitter System, successfully deploying
t he new system with no vendor support.
XHAS – C hannel 33 Tijuana, Mexico
1980 - 1984
Broadcast Technician – Supported and supervised the technical operation of a local
Television channel repeating the signal of a National TV channel. Maintained a 10kw
television broadcast t ransmit ter, including point to point microwave links. Worked and
lead the initial setup and deployment of the Broadcast Antenna (UHF) as well as
building up the initial technical operations of this repeater channel.
Cablevision – Tijuana, Mexico
1976.-.1979 Deployment Technician – Responsible for the deployment of a Regional
Cable TV system. Responsibilit ies included the installation of the various drops and the
t runk line. Deployed a headend master facility for receiving Television signals for
p rocessing and distribution over the cable system.
