production, quality and manufacturing team.

requirements and regulations with suppliers in United States and

affected for shortest amount of time.

. Issue SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) and follow up with the

supplier for containment of non-confirming material at line or

warehouse.

. Communicate with supplier over phone or in person for supplier defect

parts and process those parts to RTV (Return to Vendor), write RTV PO

(Purchase Order) for reimbursement (over $42,000 parts returned in

less than a month).

. Coordinate testing program for returned/defective products. Create

metrics for identifying key indicators for sub-performing products.

Perform engineering tests at vehicle test lab with various teams for a

field issue.

. Provide ideas for developing Supplier Scorecard and Scrap Reduction

for cost saving and efficiency improvement.

. Develop and validate test procedure, record and analyze data collected

during test.

. Designing and optimizing mileage and cost of a hybrid vehicle with a

combination of diesel engine and electric motors with regenerative

braking system.

. In the US there has been a large effort to move away from foreign oil.

Legislation has been passed stating that by 2025 all vehicles must

achieve 54mpg, thus we proposing a system that will incorporate a

diesel hybrid with hope to satisfy at least a group goal of 40 mpg for

current date. Our group understands that the technology is only

improving and we hope to use much of the research being conducted to

improve battery life and performance, moreover a cleaner diesel

engine. Our team has decided on the requirements and we will begin CAD

drawings and trade studies of the different packages that can be

merged with hopes to create an optimal system. It is important to

state that this project will only be pursued to the preliminary design

because of time constraints and the project is more of a research

development.
