Recruited to manage and improve the operations of Metalworx Inc. 85,000 sq. ft. machining, sheet metal fabrication,
welding/fabrication and paint/powder coat facilities (annual sales of approximately $11M). Directed a team of (5) in the execution of all
Metalworx operations: employee safety, product quality, production, manufacturing process development, materials management, and
purchasing

of the Metalworx Quality Management System for the successful AS9100/ISO9001 certification.

Plant Manager

MRAP parts as a sub-contractor to Lockheed Martin (prime) for Force Protection.
Key Contributions:
• Successfully managed the (3) month facility start-up and the day to day operations of the 12 month contract.
• Developed and implemented standard work for all key operations positions.

• Supervised and managed the activities of (65) hourly associates and (4) supervisors and managers across (2) shifts of Pick,
Pack, Ship production for the shipment of over 10,000 line items to the Defense Logistics Agency, Foreign Military Sales, and US
Government customers.
Plant Manager
Managed the operations (4) assembly lines producing remanufactured Allison automatic transmissions in W.W.Williams’ plant in
Albany, GA. Annual sales were approximately $4.5M. Directed a team of (5) in the execution of all plant activities: HR, order entry,
customer service, materials/logistics, quality, engineering and production.
Key Contributions:
• Directed the Value Stream Transformation (VST) of all (4) assembly lines changing from batch build to progressive/single piece
flow assembly.
• Developed and implemented production metrics, standard work, and 5S.
• Reduced the cost of goods sold by 15%.
Program Manager/6 Sigma Black Belt
Selected as the process improvement leader for W.W.Williams. Managed continuous improvement projects at several of the (21)
Detroit Diesel Distribution locations and the Logistics Division.
Key Contributions:
• Managed a Value Stream Transformation
project for the Tucson, AZ MTU 4000 Series Engine Rebuild facility. Reduced assembly labor hours by 5.9%. Trained team
members on lean and 6-sigma methods. Led team through the development and implementation of a 5S program, process
mapping, standard work, production metrics, Kanban parts delivery, Sales & Operations Planning process and a Warranty
Reduction process.
• Team Leader in the development of a program
to convert Diesel/Gas engines to operate on CNG. Researched, vetted and selected CNG conversion kit suppliers. Converted 3
prototype vehicles. Facilitated training of core team members on CNG operating principles and compressed natural gas storage
regulations.
• Team Leader in the development of standard
work for the (21) W.W.Williams heavy truck repair service centers.
• Team Leader in the development and
implementation of an ISO 9001-2008 quality management system at W.W.Williams’ power pack assembly facility.
Caterpillar/Williams Technologies Inc. – Summerville, SC 3/1995 to 2/2009
Program Manager/6 Sigma Black Belt
Promoted to Program Manager for Caterpillar’s aftermarket remanufacturing division. Responsible for delivering material cost
reduction across (5) Caterpillar Remanufacturing Facilities located in South Carolina, UK, France & China and new product
introduction/start-ups for the South Carolina facility.
Key Contributions:
• Delivered new material cost savings (Salvage) for (5) remanufacturing facilities. Completed 60 + projects delivering
$5.2M in annual savings.
• Directed the efforts of plant engineering, planning & production personnel in the identification of Salvage ideas at the
Caterpillar Summerville location. A total of 59 projects worth $4.34M were identified.
• Directed the efforts of (5) Caterpillar South Carolina Six Sigma Black Belts as the Project Sponsor of 31 projects in
Summerville delivering $3.2M in savings.
• Team Leader in the start-up of (3) new products for Caterpillar, Eaton Transmissions ($8.0M annual sales), Parker Pumps
($11.5M annual sales) and Generator Ends ($10M annual sales).

Operations Manager
Managed the remanufacturing operations of Caterpillar’s McQueen facility (200,000 sq. ft.) in Summerville, SC. Managed (5)
assembly lines producing automatic transmissions and hydraulic pumps/motors for Allison, Navistar, Saturn and Caterpillar. Annual
sales were approximately $20M. Supervised and managed the activities of (110) hourly & salary employees through (1) engineering,
(1) planning, and (5) supervisors.
Key Contributions:
• Managed the relocation and start-up of the hydraulic pumps/motors assembly line from Caterpillar's Prentiss MS, facility
delivering $4M in increased sales to Summerville.
• Sponsored a Rapid Improvement W orkshop (RIW ) on the Navistar line bringing production from 10 transmissions per day to
40 transmissions per day.
• Sponsored an RIW on the Hydraulic Paint & Pack line reducing paint cycle time from 70 min to 30 min and reduced work
space by 50%.
• Managed a parts salvage team that delivered a $1.2M reduction in annual new parts usage.
Operations Manager
Managed the remanufacturing operations of the Caterpillar’s Farmington facility (135,000 sq. ft) in Summerville, SC . Managed (9)
assembly lines producing front wheel and rear wheel drive automatic transmissions and torque converters for Ford, Mazda and
Chrysler with an annual sales of $35M. Supervised and managed the activities of (150) hourly & salary employees through (1)
engineering, (1) planning, (1) quality and (3) production supervisors.
Key Contributions:
• Managed the validation/PPAP development of all annually released transmission assemblies for the (4) Ford assembly
lines.
• Managed the start-up of the new Ford F250 transmission assembly line with a capital budget of $2.5M.
• Managed the plant shutdown, relocation and the start-up of (3) Mazda assembly lines from Jacksonville, FL to the
Farmington facility.
• Successfully increased the First Time Quality on the Chrysler front wheel drive line from 65% to 92% and the Ford Explorer
line from 60% to 94%.
Plant Manager
Managed the remanufacturing operations of the Williams Technologies’ Echostar facility (64,000 sq. ft.) in Summerville, SC.
Managed (3) assembly and (2) disassembly lines producing Light, Medium and Heavy duty Allison automatic transmissions and
torque converters with an annual sales volume of $25M. Supervised and managed the activities of (75) hourly & salary employees
through (1) engineering/quality, (1) planning, (4) production supervisors.
Key Contributions:
• Consistently met or exceeded monthly production metrics of Assembly Build Schedules, First Time Quality, New Parts Usage,
Hours per Unit, and Supply Spending.
• Managed the merger of the Light and Medium duty assembly production lines through lean & Kaizan events.
• Managed the shut down, relocation and start-up of the Allison & GM disassembly operations from the Summerville
LCI plant to the Echostar facility.
