Atotech USA Inc. is the leading manufacturer of electroplating chemistry for metals, plastics, printed circuit boards and semi conductors. Atotech manufactures materials to plate nickel, palladium, tin, copper, chrome and silver on metal and plastic substrates.

Purchasing Manager (March 2008 - current)

Coordinates North American purchases and collaborates with corporate purchasing in Germany to achieve worldwide purchasing goals. Responsible for the direction and overall performance of the local purchasing staff consisting of one Buyer, one Assistant Buyer and one Purchasing Administrator and $85 million in purchases annually. The supplier base is 600+ active suppliers and 980 stocked materials. Purchase chemicals containing Chrome, Nickel, Copper, Tin, Gold, Silver, Cobalt, Lead and Zinc.

Supply Chain Specialist (March 2005 – March 2008)

The Supply Chain Specialist works on Materials Management and Purchasing related projects focusing on cost saving initiatives. Spend analysis is a key tool that enables this position to identify cost reductions between plants in US and Canada. Responsible for Negotiating and coordinating contracts and supply agreements on strategic raw materials. Liaison for all international company wide communications.

Focused on specific projects to improve operational efficiency in production. Reworked chrome production area. Removed bulk storage and related piping. Replaced with stronger piping and batch process as opposed to bulk storage. Designed and installed small batch manufacturing. I developed the layout to fit in existing space and designed the mezzanine and tank arrangement to facilitate small batch manufacturing. Project management from design to installation and start up.

Procurement Manager (May 2003 – March 2005)

Coordinates North American purchases and collaborates with corporate purchasing in Germany to achieve worldwide purchasing goals. Responsible for the direction and overall performance of the local purchasing staff and $60 million in purchases annually. Purchasing supervisor reports to this position. I exceeded cost reduction goals each year.

Responsible for all aspects of the department and staff. Managed two Assistant Buyers and one Senior Buyer. Achieved inventory and working capital goals through inventory reductions and negotiation of improved payment terms with suppliers.

Senior Buyer/Planner (August 2000 – September 2002)

Responsible for procurement of all raw material and resale products. Managed 1000 suppliers with 30 million dollar procurement spend on over 1100 raw materials. Successfully established MRP parameters and setting in the MRP system to insure reduction of raw material shortages.

Allvac, a division of Allegheny Teledyne Inc., is one of three nickel and titanium Super Alloy manufacturers in The United States. These alloys are used in the aerospace, biomedical and nuclear industries. The five plants are centrally supported from the corporate headquarters in Monroe, NC.

Senior Buyer (January 1997 to July 2000)

These responsibilities added to existing buyers duties listed below. Responsibilities included

domestic and international vendor selection and evaluation for purchase of:

-$30 to $40 million annually of nickel based alloy scrap. Metals consisting primarily of Nickel, Cobalt, Molybdenum, Chrome and Titanium.

-$20 million annually of production supplies and MRO parts.

-Sale and Disposal of $6 to $10 million annually in surplus scrap metals and byproducts of production.

Buyer (July 1990 to January 1997)

Responsibilities and accomplishments:

-Negotiation of annual contracts for bearings and power transmission items, electrical, copiers,

Fax machines, mill rolls, outside testing, hydraulics, welding supplies, metals, OEM parts, supplies and communications equipment.

-Develop and implemented systems and outside service contracts that allowed the department to dramatically increase the work load with minimal increase in human resource costs.

-With the support of the corporate staff, I successfully negotiated the consolidated national

purchase agreements for six operating companies of Allegheny Teledyne Inc. The negotiations

were for bearings and power transmission, metals, and corporate procurement cards. The

bearings and power transmission contract reduced costs by 12% on purchases of 4.5 million

dollars for the corporation.
