A merchant bank investment group focused on leveraging partner personal wealth, financial strength and operational
experience to acquire, build, and sell companies primarily in waste and recycling markets. The two primary companies
developed during this tenure were Liberty Tire (developed to be the world’s largest used tire recycling company) and Liberty
Waste (a large waste disposal and rail/trucking transportation company)
LIBERTY TIRE Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Chief Financial Officer 2004-2014
Held responsibility for all aspects of financial side of business. Oversaw balance sheet capital such as bank and other credit
facilities, bond facilities and equity capital. Managed all back office processes throughout organization, as well as tax strategy
and execution for company, including foreign tax strategies. Oversaw all IT throughout organization. Held all reporting
responsibilities from operational reporting to bank and board of director (BOD) reporting. Managed all human resource,
environmental compliance and reporting, operational process improvement and legal compliance.
Held responsibility for closing 39 acquisitions, taking company from EBITDA of $3,000,000 to $50,000,000.

INTERNATIONAL CHECK SERVICES, Wayne, New Jersey, Chief Financial Officer, 2000-2003. Held responsibility for all
aspects of financial side of business. Managed all back office transactions, all reporting from bank to BOD, as well as human
resource functions. Closed seven acquisitions with responsibility for integration. Played significant role in negotiation and
successful process to sell company to leading bank.
WASTE MANAGEMENT, Chicago, Illinois, Senior Vice President and Regional Controller, 1989-1999. Led accounts payable
standardization team to reduce processing expenses $100,000,000. Played significant role in team that implemented routing
and collection savings through satellite routing and dispatch of all collection trucks. Implemented and set up inbound sales and
dispatch centers throughout northeast.
LEVY, BLUMENTHAL, PIPER AND MITTELMAN, State College, Pennsylvania, Staff Accountant, 1987-1989. Responsible for
client financial statements in a public accounting firm. Prepared tax returns and valuation reviews. Installed accounting
software at client locations and trained client staff. Initially hired as intern, but offered full time position immediately upon
completion of internship and graduation.
OXFORD SHOPPE, State College, Pennsylvania, Owner and Operator, 1987-1989 (concurrent with above). Purchased and
operated two men’s clothing stores. Responsible for all aspects of owning and managing a successful small retail business.
