Senior Transmission Engineer Mobilink - VimpelCom (August 2008 – May 2014)
Being a part of Level-II Transmission Support team my responsibilities are following and not limited to: -
Planning & Implementation of all major Network related Projects.
Resource management (Human and Technical).
Cisco support and configuration (Routers and Switches).
Spares maintenance and onsite availability nationwide.
Coordination with Vendor and other stakeholders.
Participating in 24x7 on-call support.
Keeping the higher management updated with the nationwide network and project status .
Monitoring network performance.
Managing network infrastructure.
Managing a team of multi-level and multi-domain professionals in achieving targets in time.
Providing solutions and developing steps for network issues resolution in time .
Making sure that the teams meet the defined MTTR and SLA .
Design and Implementation of ATM network.
Commissioning of new Oscilloquartz nodes.
Troubleshooting and configuration of NEC M/W network.
Troubleshooting of all transmission level-II issues, which cannot be resolved by Operation Level-I teams,
are escalated to level-II for analysis and resolution.
Online Support for Field Teams from the NMS, which includes configurations, coordinat ion as well as
guidance for all field activities.
Optimization of the network through Traffic Management and configuration on different routes.
Identification of routes where Network Traffic can be balanced properly for minimal outage -possibility.
Responsible for all configuration related matters, thus reducing the overall downtime.
Point of contact for all vendor related issues anywhere in the network and their timely resolution.
Responsible for decreasing the number of alarms on the network by catering f or configuration related
alarms, pending alarms and alarms for which the domain is not clearly defined.
Maintenance of the transmission servers that are monitoring the whole network and providing client
access all through the Nationwide Offices.
Assist Field Teams in Correct localization of fault, in case of a transmission media failure by interpreting
different alarms showed by NMS since critical alarms are spread out nationwide.
Operations Specialist Mobilink - VimpelCom (January 2006 - July 2008)
O&M Engineer is responsible for the field maintenance of BSS and Transmission related entities. Responsibilities of
O&M engineer include:
Level-1 maintenance of all Macro, Micro and Mini Sites regarding BSS, Microwave, Generator and Power
related issues.
Commissioning and HO/TO of new Macro, Micro and Mini Sites.
Path through E1 for commissioning of new sites and expansion of existing sites.
Trouble shooting of all Inter MSC connectivity Via OFJUN (Optical fiber junction), ATM (Asynchronous
transfer mode) and PTCL lease lines.
Level-1 maintenance of BSCs and Transcoders.
Preventive maintenance of all cell sites to kill the issues which could disturb sites and hence network.
Trouble shooting all alarms of Cell Sites, BSCs and Transcoders.
Troubleshooting of PCU (Packet control unit) used for GPRS.
