EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Wyman-Gordon Energy Group, Houston, Texas 04/ 2014

-10/2014.

Manufacturing Supervisor – Directed the production activities of machinists in the processing of steel

pipes for the energy industry. In this heavy industry environment, safety is of utmost importance, and my

foremost responsibility was the safety of the employees. I made sure that all “Protective Equipment” were

worn at all times by employees. With safety at the fore, I was also responsible for assigning tasks, quality,

and cost control. Was also responsible for making sure that all corporate policies were being adhered to

by associates that reported to me. In this position, I pressed and got the “Quality Group” to create a

database with all issues found at “Inspection”, for purposes of reducing the number of processed pipes

that did not meet customer standards. With this focus on quality, I also pressed for, and started reworking

defects at any stage they were discovered, rather than having them reach “Inspection” prior to rework.

Kunilog LLC, Houston, Texas 2012- 2013

US Representative of TECHDaer Services, Nigeria Ltd (An Oilfield Services Company)

Procurement Associate: Involved in the procurement of oil services equipment and vehicles for shipment

to Nigeria.

Hewlett-Packard Co., Houston, Texas 1994 - 2012

Operations Supervisor, Re-Manufacturing (2009 - 2012)

Directed the activities of 112 contractor and fulltime HP manufacturing staff members in the disassembly

repair / re-manufacture, and packaging of customer returned Industry Standard Servers, Business Critical

Systems, Storage Products, Network Switches, Routers, and Entire Solution Cabinets. Managed all costs

and held P&L responsibility for this manufacturing Business Unit.

• Introduced a cross-training program for re-manufacturing operations. Took the initiative and

gave all employees the opportunity to train in different areas of the operation. Those who

previously did light technical work were mentored and coached into becoming more technically

inclined. Result: In approximately two months, the skill level among employees improved

dramatically, to the extent that the number of contract employees went down from 76 to 40. In

four months, that number further dropped to 32. Manufacturing overhead was considerably

reduced.

• Improved quality processes. Implemented a three-step quality audit (work in process audit, final

audit, and product integrity audit) process. Result: Customer returns dropped from one hundred

per week, to about two per week, in six months.

• Expanded operations. Made a case to upper management for my employees’ ability to re-

manufacture 3PAR and 3COM products, after HP’s acquisition of these companies. Brought in

Network Equipment Engineers and Trainers, to guide my employees through a familiarization

with these products. Acquired product documentation and testing equipment from the Product

Engineers in China. Result: After a three-month training program, my employees re-

manufacturing 3PAR and 3COM products which eliminated the cost involved in returning the

products to China for processing.

• Part of the project team responsible for the transition of the factory, from a “Build to

Order” to a “Configure to Order.” Each server was custom mass-produced, which made the

manufacturing process extremely complex; however the profit margins were dramatically

improved. Result: Within 60 days, my team was exceeding the established production standards.

• Led a project to reduce the amount of time, functionally/cosmetically – failed units stayed in

the factory. Organized a group of technicians on each shift, whose sole job was the immediate

repair of any failed units, in real time. Result: This project reduced the time failed units stayed in

the factory, from 36 to 12 hours, in 2 months

• Maintained communication flow between the manufacturing team, engineering, sales, and

Upper Management.

Operations Supervisor, Industry Standard Server and Storage Division (2002 - 2009)

Directed the efforts of 206 contractors and fulltime HP employees in the manufacture of high-end

computer systems and storage devices. Managed 12 separate production lines in a cell manufacturing

environment.

Production Coordinator, Industry Standard Server Division (1994 - 2002)

Reported to Operations Supervisor and acted as a Team Lead for one of the 12 production lines.

Coordinated staffing, managed production, ensured all staff were adequately trained, and directly oversaw

quality processes.

• Part of original team during the implementation of Lean manufacturing and 5S processes in the

factory. These processes led to the elimination of waste, idle time, and overall cost reduction in

production. Under these systems, factory went from Conventional Assembly line to Cell build,

reducing the number of people required to perform necessary tasks.

• In 1999, led my team to earn awards for record breaking production performances in new

products:- DL380, ML560 & DL580 servers.

• Earned recognition for Safety and Process Excellence for having teams that never had lost

work days.
