Academic Project details:

Project: Conversion of HMT NH 26 conventional lathe to CNC lathe.

Project description: In this project we offer solutions for CNC retrofitting of HMT NH 26

Engine lathe. Here we retrofitted X and Z directions of motions of lathe by replacing lead screw

with ball screws and installing AC servo motors on both axes of lathe. This is fitted with

automated tool post and turret. A simple CNC control is added. Turcite coating is applied on

guide ways and finally Automatic Lubrication System is installed. This conversion is less

expensive compare to new CNC machine.
