OBJECTIVE: A Product Engineer position with a heavy focus on Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE)

and/or Finite Element Analysis (FEA).

EDUCATION

Bachelor of Science (BS/BSE), Mechanical Engineering, Oakland University, Rochester, MI, May

2012

PROFILE

• Reliable and flexible Mechanical Engineer with Product Engineering work history and design-

related experience.

• Full-time Product Engineering background with multiple professional experiences including;

Design Failure Mode Effects and Analysis (DFMEA), Design Validation Plan & Report

(DVP&R), Special Characteristics Cascade and Agreements Forms (SCCAF), Cross Functional

Team Reviews, 3D printing, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

• Personal passion for Computer Aided Engineering (CAE); software experience with: CATIA V5,

MATLAB, AutoCAD, Ansysis Fluent, and Microsoft Excel,

SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Product Development

• Managed updates for the Master Design Validation Plan & Report (DVP&R) that were able to

provide direction and support for the Cross Functional Team (CFT). The updates to the DVP&R

document facilitated the development and design of Dura Automotive’s roof rail product line.

• Completed Special Characteristics Cascade and Agreement Forms (SCCAF) that outlined critical

and significant part characteristics to ensure a robust and reliable product.

• Created a Consolidated Warranty Review document from Ford’s; Edge, Escape, Expedition,

Explorer, Flex, Focus, MKX, and Navigator programs so that System Engineers could quickly

review old warranty data and innovate future product designs.

• Provided Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) support to

reduce overall costs and to improve the general structure/design of roof rail products.

• Multi-tasked Product Engineering support for the C489, CD539C, CD539N, and CD539E roof

rail programs.

• Completed over 70 hours of hands-on component testing (involving tests of strength, stress,

strain, and temperature) that allowed the Cross Functional Team to meet the expected

requirements and deadlines of customers.

Design Development

• Utilized CATIA V5 to design a prototype testing setup that saved the company time, energy, and

cost by using my designing skills to pinpoint an exact plan before beginning construction. The

testing setup was later constructed to demonstrate the durability and strength of roof rail products

to potential customers.

• Advanced CATIA course (2014), Computer Aided Design course (2010), Engineering Graphics

and CAD course (2008). These courses provided me training with: Finite Element Analysis

(FEA), design optimization, component and part modeling, product design, surfacing, drafting,

GD&T, and kinematic simulation techniques.

• Completed a Level II – Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) training course (2012).

• Internship training involving MATLAB, Ansysis Fluent, and CATIA skills to produce an

experiment designed to evaluate the heat transfer coefficient between piston and oil cooling jets.

• Completed the 3D printer workshop hosted by TechShop Inc. (2014)

• Frequent participant of DURA Automotive’s Cross Functional Teams’ Design Failure Mode

Effects and Analysis (DFMEA) Workshops to outline potential issues and failure modes that

might impact the C489 roof rail program.

Team Building & Client Relations

• Used Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills to lead numerous design reviews and ensure accurate

tracking and delegation of team activities.

• Actively participated in daily Cross Functional Team (CFT) reviews, by voicing critical

comments/concerns, and by communicating updates for all assigned projects.

• Collaborated with many automotive suppliers and customers (including Ford, Chrysler, and GM)

to ensure accurate and timely delivery of roof rail products.
