Synopsis MATALAN is leading British retailer of clothing and house wares products. It has 220+ stores across UK and Middle East. Each store is divided into 4 departments – Women, Men, Kids and House wares. Suppliers or manufacturer (Mostly from India, China, Sri lanka, Nepal and Pakistan) of goods provides the stocks to three warehouse distribution centers(CDC,KDC and SDC) from where stocks are delivered to 220+ stores in UK .Managing files to and fro to these 3 production environment from another system (NOVA / ecommerce).

MATALAN is a retail based system which technically involves data/files transfer among six sub system to provide 24*7 availability to end user. The six sub systems are :

Providing 24*7 user support and Application Maintenance

From testing point of view, I have been working on a number of project deliverables since past two years.

Responsibilities for all these projects-

Assisting Project Manager in Management activities like resourcing, managing and collating timesheets, Daily Client Meetings

Liaising with business users for understanding requirement

Discussing the escalated issues with client and understanding the problems

Ecommerce Click and Collect And Store Consolidation

Matalan is introducing a ‘Click and Collect’ service for goods ordered on their website. This is where rather than having the goods delivered to customers home or another private address, they can collect their order from one of Matalan’s stores. The Click and Collect service will be added as an additional option to the delivery services

Ecommerce CTG

Matalan used Fresca web system (FCP) for Ecommerce. Matalan has asked CreateThe Group (CTG) to develop a web application to replace Fresca. The existing Fresca web platform was replaced with a new website provided by CreateThe Group (CTG). A number of interfaces are used between the NOVA system and the Fresca web system and all these inbound and outbound interfaces for the new Ecommerce web application was tested to prove the new system is ready for integration with NOVA. CTG is a third party which provides the front end website for customers to buy products from Matalan.

• Initially worked under the direction of the test lead

• Test lead for CTG testing

• Support Matalan BSM and Capgemini test manager

Ecommerce Sporting Pro

Matalan planned to open a number of sports stores and a website – SportingPro. The site was integrated into the Matalan product, logistics, and contact centre, ordering and reporting systems.Matalan’s trusted partner YOMA had developed SportingPro. The testing was limited to joint Integration, NOVA functional, NOVA regression and E2E testing based on the scope defined in agreed test plan and approach. This website was exclusively for sports products.

Single Customer View

Single Customer View is an information pool where in all the customer data is available for customers and the stores. This provides a facility to the customers as well as the store users to view and manage their accounts. Also, it provides a visibility to customers to view their purchases.The different modules present in this project were Numero and Matalan Card.Numero was used by the store users to register or view the customers.Matalan Card was used by the customers to access their accounts.
