Teaching Skills
Communication, I actively give my students everyday life examples related to most common
Spanish phrases and idioms to make it easier to understand, and complemented with classic
literacy Spanish short stories or abstracts of the Spanish literature to increase and improve their
vocabulary from basic to college level.
I am currently versed in the delivery of classes using technology such as Power Points and
presentations from IPAD or using smart board to make it more accessible and friendly to
students.

I have the versatility to teach teenagers, young adults, and adults, as I demonstrated by teaching
all levels of high school all the way to Community College.
Knowledge of Hispanic Culture and literature,, I was born and raised in Mexico, and I am
currently US citizen; I studied my bachelor in Political Science and Public Administration degree
in the UNAM one of the most prestigious in Latin America, which attracts also students from other
Latin American countries, especially Central America. I also hold a MA in Spanish from California
State University Northridge.
My Bachelor degree and my MA provided me the knowledge and historical perspective to
understand Hispanic culture in its development as a language from the antiquity to the 4 th most
spoken language in the world.
I am always close to Latin America news by following CNN en Español and Radio Formula to be
knowledgeable of current events under the Hispanic perspective.
Grammatical structure knowledge, The majority of my education since elementary to graduate
provide me the grammatical knowledge and tools to help students to only communicate in
Spanish; but also, to do it according to the standard of the Real Academia de la Lengua Española
or Royal Academy of the Spanish Language.
Other transferable skills:
Diversity Awareness: Being teacher at Saint Genevieve and COC has giving me the opportunity
to interact with different academic, economic and nationalities in a single class by the use
different approaches to help students succeed.
Coaching and Personnel Management, During school calendars’ 2013 and 2014, I
was designated as Foreign Language chair, which shows my leadership skills and its ability to get
along with others.
