Argued novel issue on the retroactive application of a new rule of law
concerning the questioning of indicted suspects before the New Jersey
Supreme Court and prevailed in State v. Curtis Knight, 145 NJ
233(1996).
Convinced the New Jersey Supreme Court by a 7-0 margin in State v.
Lyle Nance, 148 NJ 376(1997) to allow evidence of other criminal

activity to be used against a criminal defendant in a homicide case to
establish his motive and intent.
Represented the State before the New Jersey Supreme Court on issues
concerning prosecutorial misconduct in the landmark case of State v.
Frost, 155 NJ 76(1999).
Vigorously represented the State of New Jersey in hundreds of cases
before the Appellate Division and Supreme Court of New Jersey.

Assistant Prosecutor February 1989-February 2014
Served as Police Legal Advisor from 1998 to 2014. Responsible for
giving legal training to recruits and law enforcement officers.
Available on a 24/7 basis for emergent legal advice. Assigned to the
Appellate Section from 1993 to 1998 and was responsible for writing
appellate briefs and arguing a number of significant cases in the
Supreme Court and Appellate Division. From 1989 to 1993 I was
assigned to the juvenile trial court, adult trial court and pre-indictment
investigation of narcotics cases.
