Wave-Fusion, Inc. 2002-Present

Founder and COO of Wave-Fusion, Inc., a software company specializing in the design

and development of productivity, workflow, and document management applications.

Principal areas of responsibility include new business development, application design, and

management of the firm’s programming teams in the United States, India, and Russia.

Served as Project Director during the installation and implementation of Wave-Fusion

systems at The Council on Foreign Relations, Smithsonian, Hachette Filipacchi, Elle,

Better Homes & Gardens, Flying, Car and Driver, Road & Track, Budget Living, Boating,

Travel Agent, and Hall’s Magazine Reports.

Magazine Services, Inc. 1989-2002

Founder and COO of Magazine Services, Inc. (MSI), an independent marketing and sales

firm retained by national magazines to manage their advertising sales operations in New

York, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Oversaw all operational areas of the firm and its 35 employees.

MSI clients included Elle Décor, MIT Technology Review, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance

Magazine, Travel Holiday, the Ivy League Magazine Network, Arthur Frommer’s Budget

Travel, Departures, BBC Music, Mode, National Wildlife, My Business, Bank Director,

Movieline, Ebay, Private Clubs, Sail, Musicland, Weight Watchers, Legal Affairs,

Confectioner, Independent Agent, American Baby and the National Parks Network.

Served as Project Director for the launch of a series of small business magazines on behalf

of major financial institutions including Chase Bank, NationsBank and Wells Fargo. In its

final iteration, the Independent Business Magazine Network reached over 1.2 million

small business owners.

Headed all new business initiatives to expand MSI’s roster of clients. From 1989 – 2002,

MSI’s billings increased 230% generating over $225 million in advertising revenues.

Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine 1979-1989

• Associate Publisher / Advertising Director 1984-1989

Responsible for Kiplinger’s national advertising sales effort including supervision

of 21 employees in the New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Detroit offices.

Appointed by the Kiplinger Board of Directors to an internal task force charged with

developing both new products and alternative circulation strategies for the magazine.

• Marketing Director 1981-1984

Oversaw a wide array of projects designed to enhance and extend the magazine’s

inventory of benefits. Initiatives included the development and design of

category and account presentations, multi-media programs, collateral materials,

merchandising and advertising trade campaigns.

Supervised the analysis and utilization of all primary and syndicated research used

by the magazine.

Worked with agency research directors in developing and disseminating a series

of MRI and SMRB prototypes prior to the magazine’s measurement by the

syndicated services.
