RESEARCH JOANNA’S DINOSAUR TRACKSITE – GLEN ROSE, TX MARCH 2014

EXPERIENCE

This week-long project required the use of various silicone resign applications to create molds in

order to preserve a late Cretaceous track site that contained over fourteen different species.

Continuous track molds made by Acrocanthosaurus were also created from a nearby ranch in the

same region.

SEISMIC INTERPRETATION OF THE PENOBSCOT, OFFSHORE NOVA SCOTIA FALL 2014- SPRING 2015

Advisor: Dr. Jeannette Wolak, Dept. of Earth Sciences, TTU

This two-semester, undergraduate senior thesis assignment is required for a B.S. in Geosciences

from the Department of Earth Sciences at Tennessee Technological University. 3D and 2D seismic

imagery is being examined using the Opendtect program (open-source) to analyze offshore

sedimentary and tectonic structures and infer the various processes that may have caused the

formations.

TNTECH: GORDONSVILLE ZINC MINE: SPRING 2014

Instructor: Dr. Jeannette Wolak, Dept. of Earth Sciences, TTU

This class project, presented in the Geological Exploration course taught by Dr. Wolak required the

interpretation of core data to construct a map of potential ore bodies found with both the

Gordonsville and Elmwood zinc mines.

STUDY ABROAD: ICELAND JUNE 2013

Tenn. Consortium of International Studies, NSCC

This summer course consisted of the basic introduction to geology material. Along with this,

research was conducted in taking soil samples from different locations around Iceland and

analyzed (conducted at the University of Akureyri) for past traces of human DNA.
