District Health Profile Research (September – November 2001)

A three-month long group study undertaken as part of the MBBS curriculum.

The study focused on health management in a district hospital and included an epidemiological

study on Japanese Encephalitis.

Village Health Profile Research: A Community Diagnosis study of the Kalleri village of Nepal

conducted as part of the MBBS curriculum. April – May 1998. The study focused on KAP

(knowledge, attitude and practice) of villagers regarding health issues followed by micro-health

projects to address the problems identified therein.

Conducted several health awareness generating programs: like street plays and rallies on

World No Tobacco Day, World AIDS Day, WHO day, World AIDS day as an executive body

member of Nepal Medical Students’ Society in collaboration with WHO Nepal and the Institute of

Medicine, Kathmandu. Organized blood donations, tree plantation programs, fund raising for school

building, satellite health camps and student exchange programs.

Represented the country as the NMSS President at the August meeting of the International

Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) at Egmond An Zee, The Netherlands,
