Outdoor Advertising Manager: December 1995 - November 2013
Sign Technology, though an old name from the latter 70 s was meant to imply “signs”. We became a full-service contract
manufacturer/design firm through advances in technology and our capabilities. Primary clientele were new residential home
builders throughout the Bay Area, Sacramento, Fresno Valley, and Reno Metro.
Prepare outdoor advertising proposals and map for advertising signage that would "direct" home-buyers to new residential
construction. Post proposal, prepare contracts for services and research landowner information using county assessor
information. Contact landowners,, negotiate leases for permission to install and maintain signs on their property, prepare
and submit permit applications to pertinent government jurisdictions: Our client paid us and we paid the landowners.
Sole outdoor advertising employee in the sole corporate office. At height of market, this grew to 3 branch offices,
training/managing 3 additional department employees and a growth in monthly outdoor advertising revenue from $35,000
monthly to well over $360,000 monthly.
Proposed 2 separate new product offerings: Weekend sign contract services and weekend living sign services. Received
monthly commission for both for gross monthly receipts. At height, I had hired 80+ weekend contractors and weekend
employees for an increase in monthly department/company revenue of $90,000+.
Position grew into managing/supervising all full -time employees, managing all agreements, contracts, and progressive
design and implementation of improved client proposals and design of outdoor advertising maps.
Created and maintained th e department database for monthly client billing for department contracts and also made
payments monthly to all landowners and contractors (accounts receivable and payable for department).
Worked direct with the president of the company in issuing reports based on department assets depreciation for corporate
tax write offs. Ran reports and issued annual 10-99 forms for outgoing payment tax purposes.
Redesign outdated carbon company forms for contracts and agreements to form -field entry PDF forms.
Art Department Manager: February 2002 - February 2007
Manage Art Department and group of 10 graphic designers in 3 branches. Receive work orders from Production
Department and assign/distribute daily the work orders to the designers.
Research and implement improved software and techniques to designers to offer the best proposals, designs, and service to
our clients. Maintain current version software and font compatibility for quick turn -around times dealing with clients and
client vendors working on differen t platforms (PC vs. MAC).
Graphic Designer: February 2002 - November 2013
Create scaled design layouts, primarily outdoor advertising signage, based on Sales Department and clients' requests from
work orders and personal requests.
Confer with Sales staff and clients on revisions and additional information for requested final design.
Create original designs for layouts or use clients' corporate guidelines for layouts.
Work with clients' ad agency designs using cross-platforms, in determining client supplied artwork using both vector and
raster images, and also cross-platform fonts. Color values were also paramount in approved artwork and color matching
from one monitor to another and also calibrating the printers to match approved artwork and contracted item s.
