The hospital services include the provision of Emergency Medical Care, In-Patient/Out-patient Surgical
and General Medical Services. It offers the following facilities: Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive
Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Automated Laboratory, Radiology, Heart Station, Pulmonary,

Job Description: Produces images of heart muscle and functioning by setting-up ultrasound equipment;
attaching electrodes to chest and equipment; operating and adjusting equipment; recording cardiac data
and measurements; protecting and helping patients.
Echocardiography Technologist - Technician Job Duties:
• Prepares for examinations by checking equipment and inventorying and restocking supplies;
reviewing patient schedules; reading physician orders for specific examinations; setting-up
recording equipment; entering patient information into system.
• Reduces patient anxieties by explaining procedures; answering questions
• Prepares patients by positioning patient; spreading gels; attaching electrodes to chest and
equipment; adjusting equipment controls; verifying wave signals.
• Obtains quality images by positioning and repositioning transducer; monitoring display screen;
listening to signals; adjusting equipment for beam strength and focus; detecting artifacts that
mimic abnormalities; recording images.
• Records examination information by printing graphics and data; calculating measurements of
heart wall, chamber size, and blood flow direction and velocity; comparing measurements to
norms.

ECG Technician
Job Description : The ECG Technician is responsible for assisting physicians in diagnosing as well as
treating heart or cardiac, and blood vessels. Is responsible for the total care of test devices or equipment
and for explaining procedures and processes to patient and comparing findings to the standards to
determine any problems.
Electrocardiogram Technologist - Technician Job Duties:
• Conducts recordings of electromotive instant variation in heart muscle of patient, using
electrocardiograph to provide information for diagnosis of all heart ailments.
• Schedules patients for procedures and maintain logging and schedule system as needed.
• Moves electrodes along particular area of chest to record electromotive variations happening in
various heart muscles’ areas.
• Explains testing procedures to patients.
• Makes preliminary analysis and interpretation of test results for physician further study and
diagnosis.
• Attaches electrodes to chest, legs and arms of patient and connects electrode to ECG machine.
• Monitors electrocardiogram for normal and abnormal patterns.
• Attaches electrodes of electrocardiograph to patient in order to record information over extended
period.
• Edits and forward final test outcomes to attending physician or health care professional to analyze
and interpret data.
• Performs assessments on patients of various conditions and ages, considering the physical and
physiological needs of every patient.
• Develops and maintains positive interpersonal relations with other department personnel.

Stress test Technician
Job Description: Performs exercise stress testing that provides valuable information if the heart has
sufficient blood and oxygen circulation during physical stress which may not show on resting ECG. This
test may also reveal important abnormalities of the heart rhythm and blood pressure
Stress test Technologist - Technician Job Duties:
• Assist with scheduling of stress test patients.
• Be familiar with stress test procedures and protocols.
• Screen patients for their current medication contraindications to exercise stress testing
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, blood pressure, and records
information on patients’ charts.
• Know what medications the patient should discontinue for stress testing.
• Be familiar with medical conditions that interfere with exercise stress test
• Complete stress worksheet before testing.
• Prepares treatment rooms for Stress Test.
• Take initial BP, heart rate, resting ECG and other vitals prior to beginning exercise and recognize
contraindications of such to exercise.
• Prepares electrocardiogram (ECG) computer and treadmill with patient’s information.
• Hook patient to 12 lead ECG and be able to operate treadmill system for testing.
• Monitor patient in recovery and record all information on stress worksheet.
• Unhook patient from ECG leads and treadmill.
• Be familiar with medical emergencies brought on by exercise stress testing and react accordingly.
• Assist physician in emergency situations and give appropriate drugs ordered.
• Schedules appointments for stress test patients. Keeps files on patients and other medical records,
performs secretarial tasks, and scans stress tests that have been done.
• Complies, condenses and keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
