Director of a Program Area Team (PAT) as a Developmental Disabilities Director in two
Program Area’s at Lakeland Village a Residential Habilitation Center (RHC). Managed,
administered, supervised, directed and lead all assigned staff (approximately 150) in the
provision of habilitation services and health care for all clients (approximately 85)
residing within the Program Area. Extensive experience at budgeting, managed a 6.5
million dollar annual budget. Manage a budget including developing spending plans,
evaluating expenditures, identifying inefficiencies, and making necessary changes to
meet budget constraints. Report directly to the Superintendent. Serve on the
Superintendent’s Cabinet in addressing agency policies and procedures, overall budget,
labor relations within a collective bargaining unit and facility operations. Extensive
experience working in the Intermediate Care and Nursing Facility Areas. Ensured the use
of concepts, principles and methods in providing active treatment and habilitation
services to persons with developmental disabilities and mental illness. This included
residents with autism, cerebral palsy, hearing and vision deficits, central nervous
dysfunction, dual diagnosis and mental retardation. In addition, providing support
services to their guardians and family members.
Ensure compliance with federal regulations for Intermediate Care Facilities/Nursing
Home for the Mentally Retarded (ICF/MR), and state and local laws and procedures
related to providing services the developmentally disabled. Carry out personnel actions,
including hiring, training, promoting, evaluating, corrective actions, employee
motivation, and labor relations for a diverse staff, including functioning as a first and
second level supervisor. Conduct thorough investigations and carrying out plans of
