RESPONSABILITES:
Plasma Processing Technician for CSL Plasma is responsible for the accurate and
timely sampling, testing, shipping and storage of plasma collected from donors.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
In compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) this position is responsible
for collecting plasma samples and moving plasma units to freezer to ensure product
quality. Monitors freezer and refrigerator temperatures and immediately informs
personnel if equipment is not functioning properly. Conducts daily calibration of
equipment according to SOP. Troubleshoots equipment failures and removes and/or
replaces equipment. Ensures plasma units are properly stored and inventoried
according to SOPs. Scans samples into MailDocs.
Ensures the accurate and legible recording and maintenance of data in charts, records
and Donor Management System (DMS) as outlined in SOPs. Documents waste
disposal logs. Tracks and records data for specialty plasma programs.
Utilizes sterile technique to draw samples and uses heat sealer to assure the sterility
and quality of plasma unit samples.
Maintains awareness to any reaction a donor may have during or after the pheresis
process.
