Professional Experience

• Serve as the designated safety representative of the laboratory, coordinate, and implement all areas of safety as
directed by the Rutgers Environmental Health and Safety (REHS) Program.
• Support efforts to follow proper safety guidelines through training of medical, biohazard, and radiation safety
standards.
• Analyze and research regulatory and scientific written materials.
• Perform frequent audits for Laboratory Safety and Environmental Management Self Inspections and Radioisotope
Inventory Verification Reports to support REHS initiatives.
• Identify, minimize, and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks, and opportunities for improvement
through participation in audits, surveys, and communication with REHS.
• Continuously practice and educate staff on proper handling, disposal, and documentation of medical, hazardous, and
radioactive materials.
• Research the functions of proteins involved in lipolysis and identifying lipid protein binding specificity through the
use of various techniques (i.e. immunofluorescence microscopy, immunoprecipitation and tryptophan quenching).
• Solely responsible for the breeding and maintenance of Perilipin 1 null and Transgenic S492A mice in C57BL/6J
and FVB strains.
• Develop and carry out Standard Operating Protocols for large scale expression and purification of proteins in
Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
• Highly experienced in sterility while working in tissue culture, notably in culturing and infecting NIH/3T3 cardelta,
3T3 L1, CHO, and Sf9 cells.
