assessing, commissioning plants onshore and platforms onshore in

construction yards and offshore through to first oil, gas, and water/gas

injection with a proactive involvement in Health, Safety and the

Environment. I am able to work on my own initiative or as part of a team

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

September 2014 - Present TTOPCO Iraq

Production Trainer designing the training and competency programme

curriculum. Delivering classroom and on the job training. Conducting

assessments and providing progress reports. Monitoring and revising

programme contents to ensure relevance, practicality and suitability as per

company needs. Coordinating with the other training team members and field

management regarding the curriculum contents, trainee's progress and all

other related matters. Establishing a coaching/mentoring programme in order

for trainee`s to develop through the company's competency assurance

framework. Providing advice and guidance on all related HSE matters and

ensure compliance.

September 2013 - September 2014 Team Energy Qatar

Training and Competence Coordinator, guiding and mentoring assessors,

trainers, operations and maintenance technicians for the Maersk Operational

Competency Assurance Programme. Identifying skills gaps and providing on

the job and classroom training as individuals require. Also providing

guidance and support for SVQ level 3 portfolios, which the technicians will

receive at the end of the process. I am responsible for 9 platforms in the

Al Shaheen field, Blocks A & B.

September 2009 - August 2013 Petroplan agency for B.P.

Production Technician/Coach/Area Authority on Central Azeri platform in the

Caspian Sea. My duties are operating and optimizing production and utility

packages on the platform including production, water injection, gas

injection and gas lift wellheads, flow lines, manifolds, pig launching and

receiving, three phase separators, booster and MOL pumps, flash and export

gas compression, gas dehydration and glycol regeneration, fresh water,

sewage, air compressors and nitrogen makers. Complying and actively using

all HSE standards and policies, training and assessing foreign nationals as

production technicians within B.P. CMAS (Competence Management Assurance

System), designing and applying energy isolations, carrying out gas tests,

carrying out risk assessments, liaising with commissioning personnel and

completing relevant hand over paperwork, collecting shift readings via data

logger, reporting all accidents and near misses, assessing expat personnel

for energy isolation standards, reporting and raising maintenance work

orders through Maximo and liaising with maintenance technicians, giving and

receiving full end of shift written electronic log and oral handovers, and

issuing and accepting permits to work as an area, isolating and performing

authority within ISSOW permit to work system. ABB ICSS control system used.

November 2008 - September 2009 Deft Limitada

I was employed as an operations specialist/assessor/verifier in Angola for

Sonangol Oil Company. Assessing Angolan nationals for competency assessment

programme in all aspects of offshore operations, recognising skills gaps

and arranging training accordingly. From new starts up to and including

production supervisors. Also assessing our assessors and carrying out the

verifying and auditing of the programme portfolios.

Developing a training matrix for all operations staff, and logging results

of practical and theoretical assessments and reassessments. Liaised with

the on job trainers and onshore classroom trainers to identify training

requirements for each employee.

Periodically also carry out on the job and classroom training to suit

training requirements.

July 2008 - November 2008 Aset/Aberdeen college, Kuwait

Process instructor/assessor at Aset training centre for Aberdeen college

taking control room operators through emergency simulation, MME simulation

for OIM`s and training and assessing OPITO process technician apprentices

to NVQ level 3.

Technical instructor in Kuwait, training and assessing Kuwaiti nationals in

basic process operations for the Kuwait Oil Company. Wellheads, flowlines,

manifolds, two and three phase separation, desalting/electrostatic

coalescing, pumps, valves, compressors and health and safety. Both in the

classroom, two days and on gathering centre stations, three days.

March 2007- July 2008 B.P. Staff

Production technician/coach with B.P. on the Deep water Gunashli platform

in the Caspian Sea. Joined for project and construction phase in

construction yards in Baku. Now in full production. My duties were

operating and optimizing production and utility packages on the platform

including wellheads, flowlines, manifolds, three phase separators, booster

and MOL pumps, electrostatic coalescers, flash and export gas compression,

gas dehydration, fresh water, sewage, air compressors and nitrogen makers.

on the Buzzard platform. Joined for commissioning through to first oil and

gas. Operating all production and utility units including wellheads,

flowlines, manifolds, three phase separation, booster and MOL pumps, flash

and export gas compressors, gas dehydration, amine scrubbers for H2S

removal. Designing and applying energy isolations, carrying out gas tests,

carrying out risk assessments, liaising with maintenance and commissioning

personnel, performing authority within essow permit to work system. ABB

ICCS system used.

February 2000 - September 2006 B.P. Staff

Production technician with B.P. at Grangemouth refinery. Optimizing plant

and utilities both on plant and in control room, training and assessing

apprentices, carrying out task based risk assessments, issuing and

accepting permits in the rap permit to work system, taking written

readings, shift handovers written and oral. Started on high and low density

polyethylene loop reactors and extruders for final process. Moved on to

construction, commissioning through to full production on a polypropylene

liquid pool reactor and extrusion facility. DCS systems used were Honeywell

and Foxboro.

January 1990 - February 2000 I.C.I

Senior process operator with I.C.I. in Grangemouth. Processes involved in

the manufacture of textile dyes and ink for ink jet printers as a senior

operator both on plant and in control room. Training apprentices and adult

new starts, COSHH assessing, risk assessing. Working with various reaction

vessels, tube and flake ice plants, acid and alkali bulk storages, pipe

coupling stations, mono, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps and

compressed air transfers, compressors and filter presses. Then was permit

coordinator and contractor focal point for decommissioning and demolition

of a salt bulk transfer plant. Moving on to construction and commissioning

of a Phenol Hydrazine plant. Using Norbatch, Azon and Open batch DCS

systems.

August 1983 - September 1989 British Army

Infantry soldier in British army. Reconnaissance platoon and close

observation with various postings, including two tours of Northern Ireland.
