#Project 1 : FATCA-Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act

Description: The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act ("FATCA") was signed
into law on 18 March 2010 in the US. This requires financial institutions
to report more extensively on business they conduct with US persons.
One of the primarily requirements of this project is for HSBC to identify which
customers (Individuals and Entities) fall under the scope of FATCA. The FATCA
Common Business Requirements Document has identified this will be accomplished by
searching customer data for indicia facilitated by an electronic searching
utility.
To ensure indicia searching, entity classification and data validation is
consistent and accurate across the bank, a utility will be required that allows
local systems to search and receive a result locally. The utility will need to
support both ad hoc and batch queries for local operational processing. This
utility will be badged as the FATCA Services Utility (FSU).
Role: Senior Developer, Code review, Unit and system testing, prepared EDR
and IRDR.

Description: The Customer Needs Account Opening process supports Personal
and Business product opening for new and existing customers. The framework
provides generic product opening functionality that is common to all
product types (e.g. product selection processing, product completion). The
Customer Needs Host database (e.g. work in progress) supports the product
opening process. The database is used to store application, quotation and
product information for the applications in progress. On successful product
completion the Customer Needs Host generates interface(s) to the
appropriate background processing system(s) (e.g. Product Ledger Management
(PLM), Plastic Card Ordering (PCO), Encoded Paper, WHIRL (Credit Cards),
Statements & Advices (SAS), Fees & Interest (FIS) and Folders Views &
Queues (FVQ)).

#Project 4 : Caesar

Description: Caesar is a Windows based application used to maintain credit
card, store card and retail accounts portfolio. Caesar's primary role is to
provide Customer service officers with all the information and
functionality they need to deal with credit cards customer calls quickly
and efficiently. The various departments that use Caesar are as Customer
Service, Chargeback, and Fraud.
In the Credit cards industry, the Payment systems like MasterCard and Visa
continuously monitor the transactions sent by various members and carries
out detailed analysis on the same. At the same time they also study the
market to search for new opportunities, new products, emerging technologies
and Fraud prevention techniques. Based on their analysis, MasterCard and
Visa come up with certain modifications in their systems to incorporate the
above objectives. When MasterCard and Visa make changes in their systems,
they make it mandatory for all the members to make the corresponding
changes in their systems as well. These modifications carried out by
members in their respective systems/application to bring them in line with
the MasterCard/Visa systems are called Compliance changes and the projects
are termed as Compliance.
