ID 800********** born: 21 March 1980
Educational Background:
Matriculated, Lyceum College 1999. Cape Town, South Africa.
**** ********* **** *******bosch University, Bachelors in English Literature and Linguistics.
2006 Teaching English as a Second Language certification, Boston College, Cape Town. (120 hour TEFLcourse)
Work Experience:
Freelance graphic and web-designing part-time, [http://www.geocities.ws/flightdesign/ has some samples of my work however, much has been lost due to a hard drive crash (1999-2013).
I have worked as a freelance SKYPE English Tutor alongside being a freelance graphic designer, which I found highly enjoyable until recently, all of these part time and self-employed (2007- 2014).
Also worked for Tutor ABC (tutorabc.com) prior to a wage dispute, as their remuneration is below industry standard. I gained valuable experience as an English teacher with Tutor ABC though, and was rated above average by clients (TEFL). I still regret leaving the company, however I do have financial obligations to fulfill that were not met in working for TutorABC, regrettably, a marvelous company (2014), since I am looking for a sufficient and stable, long term income. It is regrettable we parted on bad terms based on a wage dispute, however $7.50 was not enough / 45 minutes. $10 would be ideal.
Cover Letter: I have found that working freelance is very stressful because one has to procure clientele by one's own ingenuity and this can be frustrating and very unreliable at times, and, as I have grown older over the years I find the fledgling attitude of entrepreneurship insufficient to sustain a viable income. I would love to work for a large and established English teaching company not only because I love teaching English, but because it would also offer a more stable income that serves as a qualification for financial services like home-loans, whereas freelancing does not provide this benefit. Previously I had not taken this into consideration and so had preferred freelancing. At this stage in my life I find self-employment becoming dubious at best, and I thus desire to find a large stable company to work for permanently, longer term, doing work that I love (English Teaching) and am experienced and good at. I know I'm very pragmatic online English tutor, especially from the feedback from Tutor ABC clients, and I would like to prove myself during probation as soon as is possible! I do regret quitting/ being dismissed due to the wage dispute at Tutor ABC and would like to prove my reliability and nettle to a new company, and would be highly appreciative of working for your company long term, once I have proven my initial viability.
